Oooooh having a headrush - it's been so long since I had booze :o

Gordon is in the house ... actually he's mostly in my belly & dancing around with the peanuts but it's been sooooooo long & I've worked hard today so I deserve it :p.

I did the ironing while DD in the bath, did the workout & then had a bath myself which was lovely. Deliberated a while over whether to have a Gordon or not as it is quite late, but I've completed most of my chores & had annoyance from rellies too so think I've earned it .

Spoke to international rellie today who asked if I had any plans for christmas day  so I said that we were intending to arrive about midday. this was met with a pause & then an "oh, so when it's all done then ".

'It' being the preparations for dinner I assume. Bearing in mind that Dad & I have pretty much got this whole event ( that international rellie proposed, instigated & decided should go ahead) all co ordinated & catered for in their absence, & are not at all neurotic or military about, I found that remark quite annoying.

DD1 is working a night shift on christmas eve (nhs healthcare worker) & finishes at 7.30 am. Advised all rellies of this & it was agreed that lunch would occur about 2pm so she could go home & get a few hours sleep first. Dad already suggested that he stuff turkey ( prepared by lovely M&S) in the oven at designated time. I do not understand why Intl Rellie thinks it will take more than 2 hours to prep some potatoes, veg & steam a pudding.

Rellie also told me that they have been to buy the cream & will get some spouts tomorrow ... oooh hoobluddy ray :p.

International Rellie has stayed firmly in the sunshine for every christmas in the last 8 years, including the 3 previous ones since my mum died, leaving the rest of us to try & work out how to entertain & comfort my grandmother & yet now wants to be hailed as the great salvager of the family having deigned to grace us with their presence .

They are staying with my grandmother & think it will be too much for her to arrive at Dads by 11 which is when they want to turn up. Dad has to pick them up as they dont have a hire car, so I suggested picking Grandmother up on my way. Rellie wasnt sure about that .. so my poor Dad is expected to go out again to collect Grandmother & then take her home early when she gets tired, & then take them back again later on when it suits them :mad::mad:

International Rellie is getting on my nerves & I am d.e.f.i.n.i.t.e.l.y. staying at home for christmas next year ... & every year after that too :p

Off to check my bank balance now for wages & christmas bonus :j

Not sure what time they normally go in & wasnt actually expecting them until 31st to be honest, but Little Goblin said they were going in early this month so thought I would check.

Serves me right for moaning about Intl Rellies :( they probably just want everything to be perfect as it's so rare they do spend christmas here & I'm being mean :o. They do dither about though & I'm not known for my patience

I pledge to be very nice on the day though & just be grateful that I have some family, shelter & a meal to share

Very true Taxi, but I often get absorbed in ranting at the minor things & forget the important stuff when life rushes on regardless. Also forget that not everyone regulates their life according to self-imposed debt repayment schedules, surveys & whether a particular shop is on quidco ;)

    G'night
    xx

I still do all of those things ..lol..except I was putting every penny away to the mortgage instead of debt..still use quidco and do surveys but spent a chunk of the savings but will just keep money away in the savings anyway.

:eek::eek: What!!! There is another way of living that I don't know about :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

A rant/moan online always helps me get it out of my system and move on, so I think it is essential to keeping up semi sane in RL!

Great news on bonus and hamper sounds like a great secret santa too!

Intl Relly sounds like a p.i.t.a. but am sure you'll have a lovely day with family.

I'm not surprised you need a rant! International rellie *does* sound like a PITA - and is probably completely out of touch with what needs to be done to coordinate a whole family, so maybe has no idea of quite what a PITA they're being.

Tho I also know what you mean about feeling grateful that you have rellies - I'm certainly grateful I've got choice about what I do on Christmas Day .... brother, mum and especially sister would all swoop to the rescue (from lurgy) ...
