    Hello

I've sneaked on here for a whinge, sorry for the hijack...I'm so cross I need to vent!!!! my Sainsburys delivery turned up 90 minutes late....I left work early to be home between 5pm and 6pm and I had theatre tickets and had to leave at the very latest by 7pm. He turned up at 7,30pm having earlier rung to say he would be with me by 6.30pm.....

Then he was about to go when I asked where all the cold stuff was, like the turkey, pigs in blankets, cream, milk, butter, cheese...

You've guessed it, not on his van!!!! I had to dash out of there and just left it all in my hallway. I rang the customer service line while on the bus and all they could do was advise me to call the store in the morning and I've got home, printed off my list and realised that 28 things are missing. And I missed the first 15 mins of the play/ music thing that I went to see.

I'm so cross I really hate the supermarkets at this time of year and wanted to avoid all that trolley rage and now I'm going to have to face it and go shopping tomorrow. I also did it online as I don't have a car and so I'm going to have to wait for my parents to arrive tomorrow to get the bulk but I need some things earlier so will have to go out tomorrow morning....:mad:

    Anyway, back to you!

How annoying having to go into work. Try not to get sucked into any dramas or issues!!!

I still need to wrap everything and am definitely going to be stealing your mantra of wrapping the gift when you buy it for next year!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Sounds like you are getting there.
Fleece lining for curtains sounds like a good idea.
Sent DD2 shopping to Asda last night with my debit card and she spent £235 on shopping...I was mortified..lol

    Hello lovely Taxi lady,

sorry, I completely missed your post earlier. Ye gods to the shopping, i was feeling guilty for having spent about that in the last month :rotfl: I do hope there was plenty of booze & delicious Green & Blacks in there :D. I cant take credit for the fleecy blankets idea, I saw it over on Old Style :T.

Makeup -:mad: on your behalf, you hijack away my lovely, we like a good rant/vent/slate the supermarket on here. Bizarrely I keep wanting to call this the Quest - entrenched in my memory forever.

Bad enough that the delivery was late, but to have 28 items missing too :mad::mad:. Make the phone call first thing in the morning & if you've prepaid, I'd be inclined to mention fraudulent transaction etc etc. Demanding & over reactionary ? Who, me ? Cant abide sloppy & ineffcient organisations or bad service & christmas is no damn excuse for it.

Actually I'm thoroughly seething with supermarkets at the moment; I watched some panorama type thing on bbc1 earlier about these american style mega dairy 'farms'. Out F***ing rageous . How dare these people say that a cow that is hooked up to some milking machine all day long & never sees the light of day or feels the grass under its hooves/trotters/feet (ok, I'm ignorant about bovine footwear :o) is 'happy'

It's oblivious to an alternative lifestyle, but that does not mean it is happy. I always choose organic milk if it's available & I dont like the idea of them being kept pregnant all the time so they can produce milk, but that sort of intensive & androcentric factory farming is just so damn arrogant.

Ranting all over for a while now.

I have now finished all varieties of paid work until 4th Jan :j I didnt earn much this week but it will pay for car parking, treats & maybe a takeaway too.

Poor DD has reached the compulsive coughing stage which for me is the most distressing to watch/hear, so I decided to give her another quick dose of fresh air by helping me to deliver neighbours cards. Another job done :D It seems to be starting to thaw a bit out there although our road is on a bit of a hill & with no school traffic & many people staying home it hasnt had much use & is still a few inches deep in snow.

I have also finally finished all the gift wrapping, which is handy as I've now run out of sellotape. My early departure from work meant I didnt have a chance to temporarily rehome that roll of sellotape I found in the stationery cupboard :(. Never mind 'why pay more', I reckon why pay at all if you can borrow ;)

Never mind, it's all done & next november we will have a challenge to buy & wrap within 24 hours of purchase :D

Tomorrow I have one load of laundry to do, collect gift from work - damn, just remembered no sellotape :( it'll have to be masking tape :rotfl:, will try to get fuses & make a start on the chores. After christmas day I'll just be lazing around, chilling & enjoying the time at home.

Virgin CC minimum payment due out tomorrow ( thursday) so I will make up the difference to the nearest £100. Details will follow, but now it's ridiculously late again so I need to get to sleep,

    G'night
    xx

Hi Lula..you'll not believe it but there wasn't any booze or chocolate in that lot...lol..we do have a lot of stuff in now for a few weeks though..lol.I've been even naughtier than her and spent £7k on a car...oops.

That programme you were watching on the cows...they are going to be opening super dairies like those here as well...it's disgusting.

Makeup that is absolutely awful for supermarket delivery....no need for such sloppiness but I hear that most of the supermarket delivery places are crap.Ocado is usually very good though...

LULA...hope you can keep that cold at bay and that DD gets better soon xx

Lula - poor DD what a shame, hopefully this is the last 'leg' and she'll be better for Christmas day!

I do find all those stories about big style farming really worrying. I always try and buy organic / free range etc and when I was talking to Sainsburys about my order this morning they said about substituting my turkey and I said only Free Range - not some cheap and horrible turkey.

The thing is, you just don't realise how your food gets on the table and then once you do, it becomes really hard when you're out shopping. I now get a meat box delivery. It isn't cheap but I'd rather eat less meat and have good quality and 'happy' meat!

Plus the company is called Well Hung which gives me a laugh whenever my delivery arrives at work!!

Also top marks for making me get out my dictionary, I love learning a new word and loving andocentric...

I spoke to Sainsburys this morning and they're going to deliver the rest of the stuff this afternoon by 2pm so that should be ok. She did say there were quite a few substitutions, most of the ones she mentioned were fine but I'm still cross about the whole thing.

They brought me a bottle of champagne which I didn't order but I don't know if I've paid for it or not as they didn't bring a receipt!!!

I was nice on the phone as I don't want to be a cow to someone right before Xmas and they did agree straight away to bring my stuff today so at least I don't have to schlep to the store but I shall be writing a complaint letter afterwards.....could have done without the stress right now!!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Totally agree with both rants! Nothing more to be said about it really, the arrogance in both cases is horrifying.

Glad you're off now Lula - and I really hope little DD is properly on the mend.

Taxi - Great that you're well stocked for a long while. So am I as I cant bear the thought of supermarkets for while. I'll be using up what we have & then eking out my £11.50 of co op vouchers before I set off in the car again. I am loving the £7k car slip up :rotfl: Makes my cosmetic teeth & mac slip up seem positively angelic :D

Makeup - so glad you got your delivery & you're right, no need to be stroppy first off, that should only be a back up plan. As soon as I've finished typing this, I'm off to google 'well hung' cant wait to see what 'comes up' before I find the meat deliveries ;).

Having succesfully avoided the 2010 clothes challenge for some time now :o, I have finally accepted that I need to get the 2011 one up & running _pale_.

I'm not debt free yet, losing 4lb is not enough to get me back into most of the clothes I have, & I did spend loads on shoes, coats & other bits :o:o:o.

Dammit - I've sabotaged myself

But first I have a list of things to do today :

Bathroom all clean & shiny, hoovering all done & washing on the airer, will iron later on as tomorrow is going to be all about baking, shortbread stars & gingerbread biccies & decorating them :j

I have 2 large bags of cardboard & plastics to be reycled & have also realised that another of the bag lurking in my room contains the 2 pairs of boots that I'm donating to sis & DD1.

I love getting rid of stuff :D. I'm not making any resolutions as such, as the plan is the ongoing lose weight, lose debt & keep fit & stay fit path.

However, I am very keen to restart the simplification of my life which involves becoming very minimalist about all possessions.

Right, off to get some proper clothes on & then head out ...

Your plans sound similar to mine - and I think just making a resolution sets you up for failure :p
