Hmm, must look at the clothes challenge. If I get this promotion I might see about smartening up my image a bit....so may need to get some more clothes?!
Sounds like you've had some fun plans over the week. Enjoy practicing your festering....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

A very long absence, but I have been doing good things
DD has declared that although she loathes putting tree up & decorating it, she loves putting all the stuff away - result  I set her to work & it did take about 3 hours but the home is now clear of all christmas stuff & it's all been packed away for another 50 weeks.
We took the opportunity to have a really good clear out in the living room; all the drawers, bags behind the sofa, old paperwork, cards etc. The room now looks all clean, tidy & clutter free, we moved a couple fo times around & we can now use the dining table again.
I've got more stuff to go to the charity shop & just know that in 2011 I will be able to get rid of stuff that I have kept for sentimental reasons only. A new sofa & a laptop for DD will provide an even 'cleaner', less cluttered & tidier room so I am totally motivated to get debt free & save for a new sofa asap.
Changed the sheets on the beds, hoovered everywhere & tidied my room too.
I dont like the new slowcooker. I really think it is too big for just the two of us, unless we freeze half of what we make each time. I was also not aware at just how long it does take to cook stuff. It was only a fiver so will keep it, but am going to investigate getting the smaller one I saw on Amazon to start with. At the moment it's annoying me b taking up space in my kitchen along side the ice cream maker. Cup a soups are far more space conscious
.
All the gucky food is now gone & I've not done any exercise so I'll have to work extra hard next week. Still dont feel quite right & apprently i'ts counter productive to exercise when not fully fit, so I'll just carry on sipping the Baileys for now.
Have a lot to do tomorrow, need to buy some thank you cards & stamps, return books to the library, venture into the scary realm of DDs room & go to see another film. Might be lazy & see if the film is on on sunday instead - free parking
Must now go see if any crazy people have joined up to next years clothes challenge. I swear this is my last year ...0 -
Hope you feel better soon hun xxxx0

Yep, here's to a fabulous New Year for you! Hope you're beating off the Unnamed Lurgy with a big stick, and that you're going to enjoy your day today as well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks guys,
actually I feel rubbish. woke up at 5 again & had to take nurofen then slept until 10.30. No getting to the cinema for 11.40 showing for us then.
Checked the listings & the film's on for the next 3 days at the same time so we might well go on sunday & get some free parking too.
I've had the renewal for breakdown from the AA & frankly I didnt like it one bit. I hopped over to Quidco & am now the proud owner of RAC membership for a mere £28 & should get £20 cashback too which will be very welcome.
No plans for tonight other than festering & tomorrow i really want to go into London to see the new years day parade but will depend on how I feel & the weather.
Really need to go to local shops so should go & get dressed now & then wander outside for the first time in days.
Will be back later with more fascinating updates from the cold infested zone.
bye for now

Hello again,
feeling slightly better now after having gone outside for bit. Weird though as the air felt, smelled & tasted dirty rather than fresh.
Had to pay 13p for one of DDs overdue library books. Although she is a child, she is now reading books from the teenage section & there is a charge on those if late.
Carried on to the post office & paid in the cheque for £100. That will start my personal spending account off nicely.
I bought some stamps & thank you notes & we then headed off to the co op so DD could get some more icing sugar for cake making. I'm rather ashamed that we have lots of food that will be unused, the birds are feasting though.
We got some hot dog rolls for 25p & a pot of cream for 20p - both had todays date on so what with some sausages & christmas pud left in the fridge we had a very cheap tea today, if somewhat stodgy.
I havent used my co op vouchers yet & will be making the most of them in my plans for an uber frugal january.
After the RAC payment, I will have £246 spends left but have to pay for the contents insurance & aim to squeeze another £125 CC payment out of that, hence the need for uber frugality on the groceries. Back to work next week & back to home-job too so the cash funds will start up again.
Both my presents & clothes funds are desolate so I will be starting those from scratch again; £10 a week for each, although I do have the Sealed Pot for christmas costs next year. At the moment I'm thinking how nice it would be go away somewhere hot & sunny for the whole festive period, so best I keep clunking into that pot.
Todays clunks were a shiny £2 coin & a shiny £1 coin
I will end the year with £4.50p in my purse ( apart from the secret emergency cash stash) but I have money in the bank, saving funds for bills, car expenses & DDs clubs & trips & am in a better position financially than I've been for as long as I can remember, if only for the fact that I actually know what I have.
