:hello: Beautiful People & welcome to the [STRIKE]next [/STRIKE] ahem, final chapter in the mighty long & rather winding road I'm dragging myself along towards the wondrous realms of 'Debt Freedom'.
I believe that 'Debt Freedom' is a magical, happy place where I & everyone else here truly belongs & that one day we will all live there happily ever after :j ...
Back to reality for a while.
I'm on my 3rd attempt at clearing debt now  & having failed with the first 0% CC balance transfer
& at one point scarily juggling 3 separate CCs; I'm now managing just the 1 & the path ahead is clearly marked & it should be a straight run to the Debt Freedom city gates
.
I was a bit messy when I first rocked up on MSE; mentally fragile following a confidence crisis, emotionally shell-shocked after losing my mum, falling in & out of unsuitable relationships, doing a job which isolated me & my self esteem was shot to bits. The debts just compounded all the above.
A couple of years on & with a lot of friendship, encouragement & support from both real life friends & family & this wonderful community, I'm now ME again & happy to be ME - hence the title
.
My life has changed dramatically & will continue to do so for some time as my DDs grow & theirs lives change. I have some idea of what lies ahead for me & it's a bit daunting at times, but I'm sure I can handle it .
I wont say that I'll stick to debt clearing in this diary as we all know that's a lie :rotfl:- sooner or later one of the work gremlins will need to be moaned about or I'll see some fabulous shoes that need to come home with me
, but I'll do my best
.
Will return with more money details later, but need to post this before midnight.

Love the title Hula- and i agree with your sentiments re debt. Life has a habit of getting in the way at times. lol
Good luckBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

:hello: Happy New Diary! Love it, love it ....

Aww thanks for all the lovely posts & good wishes
I've said it before but in case anyone wasnt paying attention : you guys really are fab & :iloveyou: .
The rather excellent thing about a shiny new diary is that I have no way of knowing where it's going or what sort of thing it will evolve into; just that it will be fun & hopefully quite useful too.
Day 2 of this new epic & November NSD 2 as well. A good start.
Enough boring finance stuff - lets just have a chat.
Tip of the day is : " No wine before nine".
This is especially important when trying to make one paltry bottle last an entire week. I've just had my last glass & although I cant remember exactly when I opened that bottle but I'm dam sure it wasnt last tuesday so I have a few very sober days ahead of me.
This is no bad thing as I seem to be incapable of quaffing wine without some peanut accompaniment which is not good for the girth of my thighs which I am trying to halve.
Day 2 of my rebirth & not only can I declare day 2 of yoga stretches, but I also did the full 40 minute Davina superfit workout - I felt great when I had finished - although there was a definite 'glow'. I've pledged to do the next workout on friday.
I intended to try to do an extra day at work-job on friday, but I've decided that my life & health is more important & it will be a good thing to learn to live with less money so if the weather is fine then I will aim to dig over the veg plot, do my workout, get some laundry done & do the grocery shopping & some chores.
Having donated a large bag of toys, clothes & books to charity collectors, I feel that I've topped up my karma for while. Although I've not had much home-job work so far & I doubt I'll be having any pocket money this week, I have received one of my subscription mags complete with a free nail polish so that can be my treat for the week.
I watched Kirstie's Homemade Home on tv tonight & am so glad I got the book - I'm seriously considering learing how to crochet  although stained glass would actually be my first choice for new skills. I think I remember that makeup does a bit of crocheting . Perhaps when DF I'll treat DD & myself to some craft courses as she's just as keen to learn new skills as me, although she favours soap & candle making at the moment.
I've had a message to say that my luscious & brand spanking new laptop has had it's software installed & been despatched. It will arrive by Monday 8th latest. Have they sent it by snail I wonder .
I am now just a mere 5 points away from claiming £10 from Lightspeed - place your bets on just how long it will take to actually get those 5 points :rotfl:.
I really need to update the clothes challenge - it's been ages& at some point I really should lay down my objectives & intentions as well as clarifying the '13 Moons'. I've managed to succesfully avoid the horrors of public SOAs so far & have no intention of changing my ways any time soon
. I do however, intend to be brutally honest in my spending confessions - you have been warned.
I am well aware of what needs to be trimmed & have a very effective saving funds budget in place which is the key to not having to resort to using credit to pay bills.
Right now I'm tired, so heading off to bed
night night

Lula, you are fab and love the ideas for Friday, who needs work!
I have to confess that I'd like to slap/style Kirstie Alsopp but she does do some lovely stuff. I just find her smugness unbearable though!

I dvd'd Kirstie last year, and watched the first one last night when I found out it was on tv again. Lovely stuff - sorry Souk, but compared to Nigella Kirstie is au naturel
Lula, it sounds good - and that reminded me to take my morning vitamin pill and multimineral, as well as my ibuprofen, so thank you for that2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oh Karma, Kirstie couldn't wipe Nigellas boots in terms of glamour. She rips my knitting big time! (But we can agree to disagree on this one)'The road to a friends house is never long'0
