The FZ3 does appear to be PictBridge compatible (least ways the USB has a PC or PictBridge setting).

If it's an important feature to you then check with photooptic before parting with your money. By all accounts they are knowledgeable and helpful.

    Is the camera Pictbridge compatible?

Yes, it is, even has built in image cropping stuff for good prints

one thing to note for those who think megapixels means everything,

The lens on this thing can resolve more detail than the competitors equivalent superzoom 4 megapixel cameras!

The reason they are cheap, in two months it'll be last years model!,
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Yes, as i would expect to hang on to the camera for some time I would prefer the option of not having to print via a PC if needed.

I ordered one via Photooptix last week and went to the branch to collect it on Saturday. I assumed it would be Pictbridge but when I asked the question instore was told 100% it was not, so I left it.

Went to http://www.panasonic.co.uk/digital-cameras/dmcfz3b/index.htm which says it is! though I notice that the link shows a model FZ3b, is this the same?

    Cheers

    Hi whoop-dee-doo,

Panasonic for their camcorders and DVDs (and I presume thier other products) tend to tag a letter on the end of the model number to denote the country it is intended to be sold in. In Panasonic terms, something with a "B" at the end means it is a UK model.

Looking at the US Panasonic website that also quotes Pictbridge, so I would say it is very likely it has it:

  • Mine came this afternoon, just charging the battery up now. It looks a very nice camera.Im made up with it. it wasnt as bulky as I had imagined either.
On the battery thing, can you just keep charging the same one over and over. what you get with the camera. Or do you have to buy a new one, if thats the case where do you get them from?
Im quite new to all this and havnt seen a battery like the one that comes with this camera before
    Thanks

Like any rechargeable batteries, they don't last for ever - capacity will gradually reduce over time. It is recommended to get a spare anyway, so you don't get caught short. Just type "FZ3 battery" into eBay...
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • Another outlet with stock at the same price, don't know anything about them though

Postage (next day) is a whopping £1.04 cheaper!!

I am unable to find a postal address for this company.

I thought this is a breach of Trading Standards E-commerce ?

Recieved mine today... Fantastic camera :) Easy to get up and running very quickly with superb image quality, but with enough features to keep me going for ages - not sure I'll ever work them all out!
