hi Bargainbabe
Just saying that stuff in USA is nearly always cheaper than in UK.
But would I want to live in the USA ?
Maybe some stuff is cheaper stateside. But has someone has pointed out, we aren't in the US?talkshop wrote:
So you people are still being ripped off

I dont really see this as a valid point.
I wouldn't say the people who purchased the camera was as you put it "ripped off". Do you still genuinely think this?

Thanks Condyk for the original pointer. I ordered one which arrived yesterday & on first impressions it is an amazing camera for the price.
All I now need is a decent case to protect it. I am thinking about the Tamrac TA5696 Digital 6 from Amazon for £13.99 but if anyone has any better suggestions please let me know.
Cheers
Clive
PS I agree that buying stuff from the States often ends up costing more once you add in all the shipping & taxesClive0 -

Thanks Jayne ... looked back and I seem to have missed a few good bargains ;-) I'll have to check it out from now on.
On the bags front ... there has been a bit of a discussion about this via the FZ3 discussion group, which you can find via:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PanasonicFZ3/
Something to bear in mind with bags, based on my experience of lugging cameras around all over the world, is that while getting a nice snug, small bag is good for day to day UK 'snapping' it is usually better to get a larger one than you need if you'll be trecking or 'in the field'. Sure the spare battery and SD cards need some room, but they are small; a larger bag can be used for a bottle of water, a snack, a cloth for hot weather, and so on ... even some fig rolls (or toilet rolls!!) ;-) I've spent many long hours 'in the bush' where there isn't a corner shop (or a loo) and a bigger bag always proved invaluable. keep stuff well protected inside tho'.0 -
This camera is fantastic!
I went on a bit of a trek yesterday up a local hill called twmbarlem,
These pictures are taken from the pimple about 3/4 the way up, by the quarry
images are only about 45k each, so nice and safe for dial up users :-)
If you want the full res versions, i can email them to you (about 1 meg each)
A Friends house is arrowed in all three zoom modes!
No special settings used here, just the heart, simple mode,
I have noticed that the camera tends to over-expose
Note - the digital zoom is pretty useless at beyond 2x, you're MUCH better off cropping the image when you get home.
the digital zoom IS fairly useful to 'spot' your target tho!
ZOOMED OUT
OPTICAL ZOOM ONLY
FULL OPTICAL AND DIGITAL ZOOMmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Them pictures are great bleugh. I ordered my camera on wednesday night. So im hoping it will come tomorrow.
Looks like the zoom is amazing, with how close you can get up to things and see the detail.
I should be able to get right close in the players faces now easily.
Probs even be able to pin mark another person in the oposite stand and see them clearly.
Thanks for sharing your pictures. and thanks to condyk for finding this great camera at a great price.0 -
