turns out the vouchers given to us by the goodwill fund are useless my wife tried to use htem in haslfords yesterday and was told they didnt accept them due to to much fraud

The problems with these vouchers was mentioned on "Working Lunch" a couple of days ago. The advice they gave was to send the vouchers back to the voucher company and they will replace them with more up-to-date ones.

You can read about it here :-

Thanks sandhabibi, thats great news, who phoned you? I haven't heard anything yet.
I would have gone to the press also, can you imagine the headline "farepak victims face futher misery"

Somebody from the bank called me, but I do feel I need to say that the professional help I sought was from Martin Lewis who contacted them and got this sorted on my behalf and in the process the person dealing with it found the other 18cases too. A big thanks to Martin:money: :T
Btw I was told we would all recieve this in writing.....

As for the vouchers we received I had a letter saying it was just the £10 ones that they had a problem with but you can send them off to be changed.

I'd like to think of Martin as a friend! just one I've never met.....:A
I made myself ill with worry & stress of this. My customers didn't have the money to repay me so I would of had to find my own money & theirs too.... Pop a message on here letting me know you got the letter ok confirming this..

  • Hey all, we paid our Farepak payments using a Visa Debit card from Abbey and we have got all our payments back through Abbey's Visa Dispute team. We put a claim in after reading the info on this site. Our local Abbey branch were also really helpful in getting this claim through for us. Try your bank if you paid on Visa Debit.
  • On the news today. A quote from liquidators BDO Stoy Hayward..
"Farepak customers should not expect better than 5p in the £."
If these people are dealing with the liquidation that's an optomistic assesment. They spent over £500,000 pursuing £35,000 in one liquidation they handled. Why? Beacuse £500,000 was left in that co's coffers. Their only way of getting their hands on it was to take an action against someone. Thereby generating an ongoing fee. Despite being told, by a judge, that they had no case.
    Why? " Because we can...."
