Hi Katsu,
Nothing from PC World yet so I assume it will be next week until I get any news. No matter in the great scheme of things as I've got a particualrly busy week ahead so I don't see me missing it too much.
Cheers,
Billy
Assumed you used you CC to pay, so you can always use Section 75 if needs be, or do a chargeback to your CC if it comes down to that..
Was it delivered by courrier or Royal mail?

Hi Bookworm,
Thanks for dropping by. I'm off to buy the sporran today which leaves only the shirts, waistcoat and jacket to sort out. I'll make an effort to add in the cufflinks, belt and buckle, kilt pin and sgian dubh in the next couple of weeks which will give me two complete get ups - one formal and one a wee bit less so. I believe wearing anything under the kilt is borderline illegal in Scotland and we certainly never would. Some traditions need to keep going!
It sounds like you've seen more of Scotland than me! We made a deal a couple of years back to take ourselves on weekend jaunts to places that we hadn't visited and we did a majority of the East and a limited amount of the North. I grew up for a wee while near Inverness and had holidays in places like Embo which, looking back, were great. Don't think Moyra would be able to stomach a caravan having had the central fountain facing Bellagio room! Proper North, the far West coast (outwith Ayr I really can't say I've done much of that at all) and all the islands excepting Skye (in saying that, I don't know that Moyra has been to Skye) are still on our list. The moneysaving kick to pay off the mortgage got in the way for about a year and the commitment to spend more time with our families has limited our travels in the last few months. As nice as it is to have a day of doing not an awful lot around the house, it's time not particularly well wasted and, with the weather turning up here, it's definitely time to start planning the day trips out again. Moyra thinks she can manage the first part of Ben Nevis but she'll make it to the top so we'll sort that out in the coming month - might push for it this weekend as you've put me right in the mood for a bit of scenery spotting.
I hope you feel well enough to make it back up here at some point. There's no doubt there are still a few bits of the country that are well worth the visit and I for one am always ready to lay out to red carpet for guests.
Cheers,

PC World must have the reference of the Ipad they sent you, so Apple should be able to disable this specific machine remotely once they log into it.. It won't disable the whole thing but enough of the applications to make it pretty much useless to use..

Holla Froggy,
I'll be marching down to the local PC World next week to demand some proper grovelling and retribution if it comes to it. I buy everything on the credit card just in case. It should make it easier to deal with as it was delivered by courier but it went from PC World to DHL to Home Delivery Network to W Watson so tracking back through that lot is what's taking the time. At some point, I'll find an appropriate person to blame...

Morning All,
That's the "hairy handbag" sorted out. I got one specially designed and it arrived today. Just picked it up and it's perfect. Off to order the Ghillie shirt to go with dress option 2. I think I'll leave the jacket and the waistcoat for the moment and play with the more modern stylee just now. Will post a link to the picture later.
Still no word on the iPad...PC World and DHL are going down in my estimation with every passing hour.

I had some issues with PC World and a faulty netbook. Long story short they wouldn't fix it or replace it, service was terrible so i wrote a long letter and shortly after received a brand new netbook FOC.

Hi LP,
I've no patience with them just now. My complaint letters tend to get results in the few occasions I've used them (Lloyds TSB and BMI being the best examples). PC World could yet make the list although, in fairness to them, they have fulfilled their part of the deal. It's DHL and Home Delivery Network Edinburgh who have made this merry mess.

Billy how awful :(, hope it's resolved soon.bookworm8657 wrote: »I would tell you about the night I discovered what a real scotsman wears under his kilt (or not.........) but being Katsu's DM I can already feel a stern eye on me, daring me to lower the tone......:rotfl:
The only time my OH wore a quilt was quite eventful, involving:- what a proper Irishman wears under his kilt
- visit to the pub beforehand, several pints in quick succession
- winter wedding in v cold church
- while couple signing register he nipped out other door to find loo. Much ill-feeling from fellow drinkers who were in same state of difficulty but whose OH's forbade them to move :rotfl:
- an eventful reception with quite a bit of research into just how attractive I found a man in a kilt
- ended up in grooms parents bedroom with lots of others, OH had a quick nap on floor & groom decided to find out if OH was wearing kilt like a proper Scotsman :D:rotfl:
Hope yours brings as much fun Billy :rotfl:
ooohhhh Bookworm, just registered - are you mummy in hospital? How are you? Hope you're okA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi Billy,
Just wanted to de-lurk and say hello. I too want to be mortgage free by 30 (although I think 31 is more likely) and have been very inspired by your diary.
How infuriating about your ipad. I too have had problem with home delivery network. I ordered a wedding dress online and I wasn't in when they came so they left it in my smelly wheely bin! It wasn't even packaged properly. I called the place I ordered it from to complain but I never got an apology.
I hope you get it sorted out soon.Mortgage free Jan 2012~ Savings £6,029/20,000
