    Morning All,

Spring has sprung in Scotland. It actually sprung yesterday but I didn't have much to say about yesterday so today will have to count as the official proclamation!

The continuation of the buying spree has seen me most recently order the socks, shoes and bow tie for my highland get up. I'll pop along tomorrow to grab the two different shirts that I need and we'll address the jacket and waistcoat in relatively short order thereafter.

The iPad is en route so I have my team of techies eagerly waiting to jailbreak it which should, all things going to plan, give me free downloads of all kinds of apps. I'm neither sure of the illegality or the warranty breach that doubtless comes with this idea but it's universally accepted in here that hacking the thing is the best first thing to do. I'll let you all know how I get on with it!

Arranged to have the garden done professionally today. We've got a couple of boys round tonight to plan the whole thing out so that will be the next project to tackle. This stems from a wobbly slab leading to the front door which has annoyed me for a wee while and has grown to a complete garden (what there is of it) makeover.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Quel disastre!

Someone has gone and nicked my iPad before I even got to it! I thought it best to get it delivered to work so that someone would be here to sign for it. As it happens, it has been signed for by a W Watson. On the phone to PC World just now but they're going to take 48 hours to get back to me. There goes my weekend of playing!

    Cheers,

Nice company you work for! Was it delivered at reception? Any CCTV camera there?

    Hiya Froggy,

Fairly sure it wasn't anyone here. They're all good folk (and they know that I'd sack them for stealing anyway) so the mystery continues. We have CCTV at the front door but not at the back so there's no way to track it through that route. It's properly frustrating as I had cleaned out the PC at home, backed up all the bits and pieces that will eventually need transferring over and I've got a lead on someone who will take this infernal computer desk. Everything was perfectly set for a weekend of getting the house sorted - there's always next week I suppose!

    Cheers,

    Billy

How annoying and strange - is W Watson the name printed on the package or a made up name by the person who took it?

    Hi Katsu,

No - my name would have been on the package. W Watson is the supervillain that Froggy G and I are on the trail of!

I am confused about the coincidence and hopping mad on your behalf. What I would be thinking/saying is unprintable.

I really hope this is sorted out soon, but guess you are looking at next week.

    What an utter nuisance.

Oh I do like a man in a nice kilt :)

    What - JUST a beret & stripey shirt :rotfl::eek:;)

Just happened to pop in, which I don't do very often these days and picked up on the kilt chat..........I also love to see a man in a kilt gallygirl, beats the hell out of a lounge/dinner suit anyday! I would tell you about the night I discovered what a real scotsman wears under his kilt (or not.........) but being Katsu's DM I can already feel a stern eye on me, daring me to lower the tone......:rotfl:

Billy/wynnvegas, so sorry to hear about the theft of your parcel, there are some really rotten so and so's out there and unfortunately we all have to meet them occasionally. I just hope that they get no pleasure from it and that maybe it will develop a fault which is unrepairable! Serve them right.

I notice you mentioned going to Galashiels for your "skirt" shopping.....wow that took me back a few years. We spent many happy holidays in the Borders, staying with friends in Selkirk, shopped in Gala, Hawick and of course Edinburgh. Over the years we covered much of the country and as far up as Mallaig on the west coast (we did the train trip over the Glenfinnan viaduct - fab!). My DH has seen more of Scotland as he was on a ship which was based either in Rosyth or Garelochhead (I did travel to and from both of those when he couldn't get leave), and he has been right around the scottish coastline. Unfortunately I haven't been well enough to cope with the long trip for some time now, but who knows, maybe one day we will venture north again, but we'd have to make a couple of overnight stops on the way now. ;)

We enjoyed being at the Common Riding on a number of occasions but sadly I failed to get my DH to wear a kilt (scottish ancestors so he can lay claim to a clan tartan :D). Shame, cos I think the full regalia looks soooooooo smart!!

Hope things work out ok for you in regard to replacing your Ipad.

    Hi Katsu,

Nothing from PC World yet so I assume it will be next week until I get any news. No matter in the great scheme of things as I've got a particualrly busy week ahead so I don't see me missing it too much.

    Cheers,

    Billy
