Mortgage Free - so good they'll do it twice! Wynnvegas aiming for the big house

Hi US,
That's amazing. I might get that one to do as well. We spent a lovely day at the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps and we've done two or three Rome jigsaws already but I hadn't seen this one before.
The total measurement for the whole thing is 2.76m x 1.92m (http://www.jigsawgallery.com/details.php?refnum=R17822) so it will be more or less a wall of the current house. The idea is to sink it into the entrance hall of the big house so that it's the focal point between the front door and the "beauty and the beast" staircase that Moyra is planning. My Christmas present is currently intended to adorn the wall of the swimming pool room in the big house (http://www.jigsawpuzzlesdirect.co.uk/prodpage.asp?ProdID=2791) - at 4.28m x 1.57m, that one will certainly take up a wall without any trouble.
Cheers,

Morning All,
Funeral went pretty well yesterday and my Granny got everything that she wanted. No-one ended up getting a battering (all credit to The Mother's restraint!) and everything ended as appropriately as it should have.
On the money side of life, we've won the battle with Tesco and will have our refund by the 23rd (I wait with some cynicism), I'm still waiting on the minimum payment amount to be confirmed by MBNA on the acquired debt credit card so we can start knocking some of that off, we've had confirmation that all the various bits of the bathroom are in and ready to be collected at our convenience (the joiner is coming round for a final planning session next Wednesday), the repayments will shortly start from the in-laws for the acquired debt and we're doing pretty well on the money front. October is still the aim to be newly debt free and everything, as it normally does, remains on course for that target.
Last league game tonight for the darts so my 100% singles record is on the line again. We're short three of our best players now that the bowling season has kicked off again so there's no great hope for us tonight. Thankfully, it's all just a bit of fun as no-one is anywhere good enough to take themselves seriously!
Cheers,

Mornin Billy
so sorry about the loss of your grandmother - glad the funeral was as she would have wanted with little drama...
well done on the tesco refunds and continuing moneysaving- I think when I am MF I may want to blow it! :rotfl:
Inspired by your jigsaw antics- I got a couple for xmas and need to get started with them...perhaps a weekend task when we are vegging out on sunday! :rotfl:0 -
Thanks TYO,
In fairness we did have a wee blowout when we immediately finished but that's obviously been tempered slightly over the last couple of months. We'll get back to spending money in relatively short order if all goes to plan.
My plan is to kick off the new jigsaws this weekend. We've got a few new boards to pick up on Sunday so we'll start one of the Vegas jigsaws on Sunday night. What ones did you get?
Cheers,

Morning All,
MBNA have finally gotten themselves in gear and alerted me to the minimum payment for the acquired debt. Thankfully, it's only £83which means that there's no issues with starting to take that down. The first £740 has been knocked off so that takes it down to £7,500. We'll be in a better position to take a bigger swipe at it after the summer but the more we can knock off in the meantime, so much the better.
Cheers,

Morning All,
Tesco have finally come through and paid back the money owed so that's another one off the naughty list! Had a relatively MSE weekend where we only spent money on the shopping and going round to visit a few people. Got a couple of housewarming gifts to get for my sister who has moved into a wee flat and a couple of birthday presents for the April birthdays to finalise but, other than that, everything remains as planned. We've got the joiner coming round on Wednesday to do all the final planning pieces for the bathroom so we'll have that sorted out before long. Kicked off one of the new jigsaws last night - looking pretty touch this as it's got six rows of plain black sky at the top which will be a joy to muddle through. The jobs for this week are to sort out my kilts (one buying, one renting) and the oft-promised ipad...

Morning Billy!
Glad you have got the Tesco mobile money sorted - I was getting angry with you reading how many times you had to chase them - I hate bad customer service! I stopped going to ASDA because of atrocious service.
Just wanted to pick your brain about IPads.......are you going to get the new IPad2 or get a bargain original IPad as the prices drop? Toying with the idea of buying one, but the lack of a USB is putting me off slightly.......I wonder when IPad 3 will be out!!
Hope all went well with the joiner yesterday.

Hi babyb,
Me too! Most of the folk weren't all that bad but their procedures need to be sorted out as that was nearly three months of chasing. It wasn't a massive deal on the money side but I like to get things ticked off on the SOA and if I can't do that because of someone else, it irritates me no end.
I'm afraid I'm going for the cheapy option of the original ipad. I don't see enough in the ipad2 to warrant going for that one as we'll doubtless not tax it all that much anyway so the wee bit of extra power doesn't mean that much to me. A significantly bigger capacity, USB or any of the other ten things Apple will doubtless keep back for ipad3 will make that jump just about worthwhile. My feelings are now much the same on the iphone 5 - nothing about it would immediately make me want to jump on board in the summer so I'll stick with my just behind the madding crowd policy. I think a lot of ipad2 owners will be really annoyed as I can't see ipad3 been more than about 9 months away. I'll let you know where I decide on as the full intention is to buy one at the weekend.
The joiner was good last night although there's a bit more money to be added to the quote due to the 18ltr boiler as opposed to the original 13.5ltr one. I'll get a revised quote early next week and will update the many and varied financial plans from there.
Cheers,

Buongiorno Billy! :j
How are you doing?
Have you managed to get your "scottish skirt" sorted out? Have you won your last darts game of the season??
Well done on your win v Tesco.. Glad its finally sorted and back in order..
Did you have to change the boiler capacity due to the gigantic jacuzzi bath??

Salut Froggy,
Variously, grand, hopefully on Saturday, kind of and absolutely spot on.
Other than feeling it a wee bit from overeating before the gym, the world according to me is ticking along quite nicely. Work has calmed down considerably, my involvement in the external consultancy market is taking real shape, I've got a couple of really interesting projects on the go at the moment and the moneysaving, excepting a £100 splurge on moisturiser and shower gel from the body shop yesterday, is all exactly as planned.
The last team of the season forfeited their game due to a large number of backshifts in their team so we claimed a 12-0 walkover. That means I closed the season with a 4-0 singles record and a 6-2 doubles record. The season kicks off again in a few months hut I might yet look for another team in the meantime.
We're down in Galashiels on Saturday morning specifically to go skirt shopping. It's an ideal time to get it as we've got another wedding next month and it will mean a real requirement to keep my weight stable.
I think an 18ltr boiler may be a bit overkill but we've got a view on the next people the house will hold and a quality boiler and fancy bathroom bits should be a really good selling point. We've now got a plan for the kitchen as well.
Apologies if there are any nutty typos - on the iPhone and too lazy to check back all the way through.
Cheers,
