    Morning All,

Other than Tesco Mobile again failing to refund the £234 they owe me, it's been a properly productive day. We're really motoring at work so there's a lot of progress being made on the back of the restructure we've just finalised. Just the Call Centre to upgrade and we'll be right off to the races. Managed to all but clear my inbox, get a few lengths in at the swimming pool this morning and clear both the toothache and headache that have been plaguing me for the last wee while. Plan is to hit the gym tonight for the first time in a week, sort a pasta bake for dinner, clear a wee bit of the sky planner and get cracking with the last quarter of the jigsaw.

Other than needing Moyra to shout at Tesco tonight, everything is going grand and dandy... Hope the same applies to all in the MSE world.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hi Billy! :j

Hope you & Moyra are ok?

Please persevere with Tesco.. I have many **heated**discussions with them but I have always won in the end.. Better get Moyra on the case though :p

Saw another article on Ipad 2 and looks like the launch is delayed till June, due to manufacturing issues in the far east.. Will let u know if I see anything else..

How are the darts going? Have you reached Phil "The Power" taylor's status yet??

Our Scotland adventure is now all paid for!! Bring on June, so i can get my kilt out!! :rotfl:

    Hi Froggy,

I knew my day was going too well. Just been hit with a speeding ticket from my waste of time trip to Aberdeen. Damn the Northern Constabulary's eyes! The real trouble is that was me being properly good but I've obviously missed a 50 sign somewhere along the line and been trucking away at 66. A minor annoyance but such is life!

I'll let Moyra have one more go at them before I get involved. She's normally a bit to nice on the phone to people but, as this has been going on for a few months now, I think they'll get the sharp end tonight. It's an iphone billing error that they keep making.

Ah well, there goes my excuse for not plumping for an iPad now then. I might still wait until the end of March as we're planning a massive clearout of all the accumulated rubbish ahead of the bathroom being done. The house is in a bit of turmoil just now as we have Moyra's sister staying with us as she's temping at work for me for a wee bit.

Missed the darts last week with being down in Bristol so I'll be back in the game again tomorrow. We've got two league matches left and I'm trying to keep my 100% record up but it's difficult to be overly optimistic without any practice between games. Once the spare room is sorted, I'll get in the appropriate practice and be much better ahead of the next season. I could just about aim to be at a donkey darts (BDO) standard one of these days but The Power is still something else.

Excellent! Looking forward to it. I've every faith you'll fall in love with the place. It's only when you're here for any length of time that the dreadful weather, dour people and speed cameras at every corner start to grind!!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Morning All,

Toothache away, headaches away, down another couple of pounds on the wii fit this morning to 12'4, paid today and booked the first hotel for Vegas (as a backup at the moment). On the flip side, my granny had a second stroke which gives her maybe a couple of days to go, Tesco still haven't given us the money they owe us and the team got beat at the darts last night for the first time. That's the short version....

To extrapolate a wee bit, the main event in the last couple of days has been my Granny's illness progressing. She's been in a home for the last few months after having a massive stroke but she's been ill for a couple of years now with vascular dementia which left her able to understand things but not able to communicate which was a fairly constant frustration. With this most recent stroke, the doctor's have given her just a couple of days to go which, bizarrely, is good news as she has suffered plenty enough. She's a Jehovah's Witness so her idea is that there is a place in an eternal paradise waiting for her. Never hoped so much to be wrong in my athiest ways but it's not fair her being how she is at the moment so the sooner the better on that front. There's a massive row brewing with my family as they are having a service at the crematorium which my Granny was absolutely dead against. I'm a big fan of respecting people's wishes so I'll not be going to that and that will doubtless annoy a few folk. She did want a celebration in her honour (with sandwiches and sausage rolls) which will hopefully go ok. Half of my family are nuts (and not all in a good way) so we'll see what the next week brings.

On the more menial events of life, we've booked one of the less fantastic hotels on the Strip (The Tropicana) but it's one that I'm a big fan of since it's been remodeled. It's well positioned and well within budget (unfrotunately a consideration again and, as it's two rooms, we need to double up on the taxes, resort fees and such). Moyra has lifted her veto on anything not 4* or 5* for this year as it will help us clear our newly acquired debt that bit quicker but my view is that it will give us a bit more spending money to hit that elusive jackpot! This year (as we're going for a paltry two weeks) will see us go with out biggest daily gambling budget ever so here's hoping the slots are good to us.

Played in our penultimate darts league game last night. I was the undoubted star of the show as I won my singles quite easily and both my double matches (seeing as no-one else is, I'll take the majority credit on here for that) but we were beaten 7-5 in the end up. Shame as that's my lucky mascot badge gone as we had been 100% up until then when I was in the team. I'm still clinging to my 100% singles record - those black phase 5 darts really are the business!

Hope everyone in MSE world is grand and dandy and looking forward to a great weekend. I'm off to do a bit more restructuring at work....

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Morning Folks,

More progress. The 18,000 jigsaw is nearing completion at long last. It's only taken me just over three years to do (there was an 18-month struggle with the bottom parts of the San Francisco quadrant where I nearly gave up on the whole thing. I'll get a picture sorted for later to show it off. The last part to be done is the blue edging. I've done the edges of each quarter as I've gone along so I can presently only hope that the whole thing fits together as it's intended. If it goes wrong at this stage, I can't begin to imagine my annoyance.

I'm on a real kick to lose these last four pounds this week. I've got my lunchtime wals to have, swimming sessions straight after work and then gym sessions later in the evening. If that doesn't create a good bit of difference in the next week or two, then I'm giving the whole thing up, retreating to a chocolate heaven and planning a shopping trip for the summer where I pick up all the XXXL clothes I can carry.

No news on my Granny over the weekend but, as heartless as it sounds, I'm rooting for her to pop off as quickly as possible now as her time is pretty much up. Thankfully, she's not in any pain which is good but, with any hope of dying with dignity long since gone, the only thing left to hope for is that is ends as quickly as possible.

    Cheers,

    Billy

So sorry to hear about your granny. I have had similar situations myself about when we get old. If I lose all my facilties or am in pain I would rather not be here and I have told people so. I hope she has a peaceful passing. I agree about carrying out her wishes, it will be her funeral after all not theirs. Families are all funny and mostly some we only see on things like this.

Good luck with the healthkick mate, I for one have been trying to eat more fruit and veg to get more vitamins inside of us and keep healthy and now the kids have stopped their swimming lessons we are going swimming every other weekend when they are here. I have now come down with a cold though so its not helping much is it grr.

Wow to the jigsaw, how big will it be? I can only manage to do 2000 pieces and thats if the picture is easy haha, my jigsaw board has sat behind the sofa for about a year untouched tho.
