    Morning Folks,

Another avenue gone! I had gotten in touch with a few folk in various local authorities yesterday to investigate the possibility of taking on something like an old school or factory, knocking the thing down and then building the big house. Unfortunately, it would appear that there are any number of hurdles to jump through and they ordinarily only deal with professional housebuilders. Shockingly, despite all my intentions, visio drawings and extrapolated size estimates pulled from the snooker table in the pub, I don't qualify as a professional housebuilder yet. No wonder the public sector needs a good bit of attacking with that level of disrespect. In fairness, the woman who got back to me has pointed me in a few different directions so, tangentially, I'm off to the races again!!

Unfortunately, my visit to the dentist was somewhat unsuccessful. Instead of the treatment I was supposed to get, the dentist spotted an infection which had come from him cutting my gum apart in visit 4. As such, visit 6 will now be the last in a while on the 1st of March. I'll be glad when that's all over and, come what may, I won't ever avoid the dentist again.

On the money front, we might struggle with buying land now anyway. I'm taking on a couple of debts from Moyra's parents to help them out as they're getting hammered with interest left right and centre just now. Us taking their debts and paying them off will give them a good bit of breathing space as the alternative would be them struggling until retirement which isn't any good.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Afternoon Billy!

Not much luck with the public sector then.. It's time to dig out your Columbo costume and investigate yourself.. Am sure through the people you know, you will end up finding the perfect plot..
Better you than me on the dentist front, I can't stand them, they are the devils in disguise.. Their jobs is to hurt people..

As to you & Moyra helping your in laws, I take my hat off to you.. You deserve a knighthood.. Please take a bow, Sir Billy of Alba.. Without you & Moyra, many people in your families would have found it very hard in the last few years, you both have been life savers.. Your dad would have been very very very proud of you...

    Have a great day

    Hiya Froggy,

Me and my Mac. It's an amateur production in the making for sure!! We've found the perfect spot so the next avenue is to investigate who owns that spot and gauge whether they're for selling it now. If it comes off, fantastic. If not, we haven't lost anything in the looking.

The dentist is pretty decent. I'm glad it's nearly over but it wasn't nearly as unpleasant an experience as I was anticipating. If I can get this last one out of the way, it'll be nice to not see him for a few months.

It's nice to be in a position where we can help folk out and it would be pretty rude to be sitting on a pile of cash whilst the nearest and dearest are struggling so it's only fair that we don't let that happen. We're definitely kicking off the shopping runs again week beginning 21/02 so that will be us properly back in the swing of things then.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Thanks Froggy,

Excellent. My sources were just a couple of weeks out then! I'll hold off until the end of the month as I had planned to pop in to get one when in Bristol next week but a few more days won't kill me.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hi Froggy,

Just the opposite as it turns out. The situation with the family was a bit worse that I had thought so we've somehow managed to accumulate around £14,000 of debt which we weren't particularly banking on. That will slow things down for a wee bit and I'm busy just now trying to work out for exactly how long!

Other than that, busy at the gym, busy at work and peculiarly busy at home as well. Will update later...

    Cheers,

Wow that's so selfless of you to take on all that debt - if you were putting away almost £3000 in mortgage payments you could have it gone in 5 months - that's brilliant:D

Well, that killed that off then :o.

Billy - looking for advice please. Hopefully going to Vegas at end of year and looking for tips. What hotels would you recommend? We want a 4* at least and on the Strip (or walking distance). What website do you book via? And have you tried for 'complimentary upgrades'? Is there a website that lists the shows - I can't find one.

    Thanks in advance :D
