every morning without fail and if im going out at night sometimes at night too!
I'm a twice a day girl most days too because of the gym during the week and my social life at the weekends.
It's easier to wash it than try to keep it dry in the shower, and I don't feel properly clean if my hair isn't. I'm going to dampen it down to restyle anyway so I may as well wash it.
My hair is skanky by the afternoon of day 2 if I don't. I had pneumonia once and didn't wash my hair for 5 weeks. No miraculous beautifying occurred, I just looked super skanky.
Philip Kingsley the hair guru says the hair and scalp are healthier if washed daily, but then he does sell shampoo!0 -
Twice a week for me.My hair is coloured and slightly curly and never gets greasy, even after 4 days.Friends are always telling me how good my hair looks and I would hate to have to wash it everyday.0

Normally twice a week or more if I get myself down the gym more often.
They have lovely showers there.

Once a week. I wash mine with bicarbonate of soda dissolved in warm water.
It used to get so greasy and lank so I decided to do the 'not wash it for a month' thing and it does work but you have to be determined to last it out.
You can always rinse it with just the shower and no shampoo if you think it is getting dirty during that time as it is the shampoo that strips the oils from your hair, not the wetting with hot water.
Oh now you have me interestedI've recently found that I can get three days between washes IF I use a leave in conditioner rather than "normal" conditioner AND if I wear my hair in a pony on day 3
Please can you let me in on your routine - how much bicarb etc as I'd like to give this a go:):)

I used to wash every day as my hair gets very greasy on 2nd day after washing.
Now I only wash two or three times a week and use dry shampoo inbetween. It takes an age for my hair to dry (seems to just want to hold onto the water) so the time I save now is wonderful!!0 -
I wash my hair everyday – at least once.
I’ve never understood why anyone wouldn’t? AFAIK hair is exposed to the same dirt, sweat and pollution that the rest of my body gets exposed to and I’d never dream of going over 24hrs without cleaning my face/body so why would I with my hair??
My hair is mid-back length but still only takes a few minutes to wash, so isn't time consuming at all.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
I wash my hair about 2-3 times a week, and use dry shampoo in between, which i find a godsend lol it takes a long time to wash and blowdry my hair because its quite long so thats probably why i leave it abit longer than every other day.:rotfl:LaurenPenguin:rotfl:0

2/3 times a week if I'm feeling myself. Longer if I'm having a very black week (doesn't seem to make much difference TBH). If I wash it more than that my scalp hurts terribly.
I have mid-length hair, to about mid-upper arm, strawberry blonde, curly. My hairdresser always comments on it's condition. I assume this is because although I own GHDs etc for when "fab" hair is required, I tend to adopt a utilitarian "caught up" ponytail thing (what's that called? when you do two 'twists' and then leave it half pulled through?) and so don't use heat on it at all most weeks.
I read somewhere that the more you wash your hair, the more you need to wash it, as stripping the oils out actually stimulates production?
I'm really chuffed to read I'm about average, I thought I was a skanky cow!0 -
I wash mine 2-3 times a week. My hair is really long and I have it highlighted every 8 weeks so I need to keep it in good condition. I find washing it every day strips all the natural oils out of my hair and I have been told that if you have coloured or dry hair you need the oils to keep your hair healthy. I try not to use other products in it and I straighten it usually once a week. If the roots are getting greasy I use dry shampoo.
Obviously if I've been doing any particularly sweaty activities I'll wash it more often.DFW by end of June 2016...! LBM June 2011

I have afro hair and I wash once a month (unless i have been up to a lot of activity) days and no i am not dirty!
I do something called co-washing in-between which has made a huge difference, this is when you rinse the hair with water and just massage a gentle conditioner through to loosen all the gunk up and rinse it away, it also stimulates the scalp. Afro hair does not have the benefit of natural oils like caucasian hair - it does have natural oil but due to the kinks this does not travel down and makes the hair really really dry coarse and unmanageable. Co-washing makes it gorgeous.
I think it all has to do with hair type.0
