You don't have to have a breadmaker to make bread ;)

I think I will have to try one day the old fashioned way a few times before I invest!
Recall now my mum making brioche at home, this was fantastic, I'll have to try to find some next time I pop in France.

    hi Spoon and all.

I've been hiding from the thread as my NSDs have not been going well. But I finally have managed a few so have another 3 to report - taking me up to 4 so far please.

I've not tried making Brioche, but I have had it as it was a 'featured flavour' at Mr M a few months back - and it was loverrrrly with jam :) Must G00gle a recipe for it at some point, as I'm sure it can't be that hard to make ;)

I've made bagels before - but that was many moons ago, as I'm certain it was at the house we moved out of in Sept 2001. Thinking I should give this another try, as they're something I love as a snack - and they're wonderfully high calorie for while I'm trying to put the brakes on my weight loss (having gained 1.25lb to Monday of last week - after going to bed most nights feeling like a stuffed pig - I only went and lost 1.75 this week after refusing to put myself through that bloated feeling two weeks in a row!!! Now 5.25lb below my intial target, and only 1.75lbs above the weight I was going to consider dropping to starting at the end of next Jan)

Had put some money to one side last week to allow me to pick some up in Whoopsie before my next planned spend day (which at the time was this coming Wednesday), but haven't yet seen any at the 'right price' - only plain ones at 49p/pack of 4, and I prefer the cinammon and raisin ones.

Went to a running club meeting last night (thought I should make the effort as I'm not actually out running with them at the moment due to my leg problem), and picked up a (free) ticket for the Christmas 'do' on 18th Dec. Not sure this was a good idea as I'm not really a party person, but did get assurances I won't be the only person there without a partner (one of the organisers, who is one of the few lasses I recognise away from the club, has actually told her DH he's not coming with her as she wants a night out on her own ;))

At least it's local to home (same place as the meeting, but while I walked both ways yesterday I'll take the car to the 'do' due to the end time), so if I start to feel like a spare part (or under pressure to drink - most of their social nights seems to revolve around alcohol drinking) it won't take me long to get home and I won't have wasted a lot of money on fuel
