I was so tempted to get a bus home as its been chucking it down all day but walked the mile home in a drizzle and icy wind then leapt straight into a lovely hot bath, and now sitting in my PJs and dressing gown :D

Mmm bath sounds like a great idea, sofababe - only I have lots of ironing to be done instead, a lot less fun.

I made myself a loaf in my bread maker last night, and risked mixing flours/mixes to use up stuff I have in - and it worked :T

We mix our bread flours quite often, and in fact I never worry too much about what kinds I put in together! A mix of white and multiseed (roughly half and half) is my favorite.

NSD no 4 today. I was a very spendy weekend but also made some in roads into Christmas shopping so it feels like it was productive! And while I haven't managed more than 2 in a row yet that is a 50% NSD rate for the month! :T

Spendy day today...wasn't too bad until I got to the Range and it's crafting bit...oh my!!! Still most of what I have got will hopefully be recouped when I sell the stuff I make...might have to take it out of my GC and NSD challenge completely...still thinking about that one. What do you crafting folk do??

Had hoped for another three NSDs in a row the next three days...but the car got crumpled when trying to leave town today. I was cut up by a speedy touring bus...ended up in the wrong lane, then having my front passenger light, bumper and wing clipped by the metal steps at the back of a white van .... He had no damage at all!!! I managed to get home eventually...blinding a few folk in the process :o.

Will talk to our friendly car mechanic tomorrow and see what he can do...he's really good. It's the first bump/crumple this car as had since we got it 5 years ago (for £800!), so not bad I suppose. :o

I can see the £s disappearing the next few days!! :( No point claiming against the white van man, as the real culprit was the bus who was long-gone :mad::mad:

Luckiny I am now working until next week, and had polanned a week at home crafting and cleaning painting DS's room...not that I have the paint...I was going to get it on my way home...didn't stop, just wanted to get home asap.

Right, ogg to knit a few more beanies...and keep warm under the fleece blanket...last Spooks tonight!!

I tend to use half-and-half, white to wholemeal with some seeds added. My 4-loaf batch yesterday is my best yet!:j

I got my third cheese from Mr T with my prominse note...and proceded to get 9 more...only paying for three with the offer still on!! :j I think it ends either tomorrow or Wednesday. That's enough cheese to last us for the rest of this year and well into next. I can see a massive grating session coming on! The BBE date is late Jan 2011, but there isn't much room in my fridge now, so some will go to the freezer once grated.

Have a good evening everyone...will let you know how the car gets on at the garage......it will cost a fair few pennies I expect :(

Keiss, sorry to hear about the car, hope it gets sorted and not too expensive.

No NSD today, bread + few presents for kids + paper for hampers from the craft centre (1st time I ever buy something in this place - this is the MSE effect! Planning to be in France for a few days in Dec so thinking of getting some biscuits etc... to do hampers).

Reading about breadmaking, is it "worth" it counting the price of the breadmaker/ flour etc..? Curious

You don't have to have a breadmaker to make bread ;) Some people still do it the old-fashioned way and use their hands, but I've had my machine for several years as I don't actually like the feel of dough (and I always end up with more on my skin/caught between my fingers/behind my nails that I do anywhere else :o

As for the cost of the flour, it depends where you get it (I mainly stock up from App F00ds and BBFL). But given the cost of a decent loaf these days, I think I'd be hard pressed to buy cheaper than I can make it for (excluding Whoopsies of course - even with my machine in regular operation I'd continue to buy some of my favourites if they're reduced from around £2/loaf to the 45p and less I've managed to get them for in the past :D)

Wow what an ending eh Keiss? I'm going to miss it now it has ended!!
Hope you get the car sorted soon & it doesn't cost too many pennies!

Number 4 today please Spoon :j
The rain had the good effect of convincing me i didn't want to pop for my usual Monday night drink, so instead i baked a chocolate cake as my friend is coming for tea tomorrow, finally hung my kitchen curtains & cosied up for Spooks with the last of the wine my dad bought up at the weekend, lovely!!

With nothing to rush home for on the tv next week i'll have to make sure i don't get convinced to stay longer at the pub cos more than 2 drinks will be no good for my bank balance or my head the next morning!!!!
