Loads of thanks for all the kind wishes:A, just heading out to Glasgow now.
OH is totally shell-shocked so I'm just trying to do what I can. FIL was a lovely man and I got on really well with him. Just shows what can happen in a very short space of time.:(

With that in mind - get going with the Friday wiggle girls, life is for living!

PS Glad you liked my sig Spoon, I read that a while ago when I was worrying about my debts etc and it just struck a chord;)

    Speak soon,

    Jints x

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • Sorry to hear the sad news Jinty, I know how hard times like this can be and my thoughts are with you xx

Reporting an unexpected NSD #2 for yesterday! :) Wont be one today though, but hoping to notch up a few next week!

BDINI - Your cooking always sounds fabulous!! I would love to be able to cook like that! You should write your own recipe book!!! I'd buy it!
    Just keep swimming

    Morning folks,

Just a quick post, very sad news, my FIL passed away very suddenly yesterday evening. We had to rush through to Glasgow, but it was too late. Will be MIA for a few days as we are back through today so OH and BIL can make the arrangements.
We are totally shell shocked as it was all so sudden.

Will be popping in as and when I can,

    Have a lovely day everyone:)
    Hi jinty

Shame on you Spoon - I'm useless at foreign languages but even I know that one ;)

The official translation is 'dreary', but I've heard it most often to describe wet (and damp, and grey and miserable) weather :)

Thanks, Chery, but then I am a southern softie albeit I've been in the north for 20+ years - never heard that word before... Mind you, I didn't know what "nesh" meant either....

PS: Hope the appointment went OK?

((hugs)) jintyb to you and your family, so sorry to hear about your FIL.

I've just quickly popped in to have a catch up with the posts, no NSDs to report I'm afraid and today won't be one either as DH is buying trousers and shoes tonight as we have a christening to go to on Sunday and he really doesn't have anything to wear (isn't that supposed to be my line?!)

I'm starting to feel better now, so hopefully we'll have a nice weekend, get back on track and will hopefully have a NSD tomorrow.

    Have a lovely Friday all,

    honey x

    Pah!!!!

They "can't really do anything until I rest it properly for a couple of weeks"

She said my calf muscle is really, really tight (and that the one in the other leg has 'something brewing' as well), and has given me an appt to go back in 2 weeks (the end of my week off work) - with some additional stretches to do in the meantime which are aimed at the calf muscles in particular. But she made me promise to rest the leg as much as possible that week (thought it best not to mention the fact I have a 10km race 5 days before the appt ;))

I mentioned having identified footwear being a problem, in so far as some (including work shoes) aggravate it and I'm living in my running shoes outside of work while I try to find something else. Said I was considering MBT's, and she looked very approving at that - turns out she was wearing a pair (suede, which means not allowed for work), but it wasn't until I got home it dawned on me that I should have asked her where she got them from !!!!! When I said the styles are an issue as they don't conform to works uniform policy, she suggested I get a letter from my GP stating that I have to be allowed to wear a certain type of shoe to help with the injury. Not sure how much notice work would take of that though, as their rules are all there for health and safety reasons unknown.gif

When I said that - even if I took time off work - I can't stop all exercise due to having to walk the dog, she asked whether I could drive him to a park and exercise him by throwing things for him to retrieve..... I can really see a Damatian playing that game for long enough to get sufficient exercise for at least two weeks (not), even if he wasn't so unpredictable with other dogs that I can't let him off the lead anyway :o

She also suggested getting my son to come home over Christmas (he doesn't want to, but I just said he's looking for a p/t job near my parents which means it's not likely to be feasible) so he can walk the dog, which would mean I could rest up completely - wasn't impressed when I said that we have a leave embargo during that period, and I'm actually likely to be pulled in for extra hours due to the seasonal shopping mayhem (which is hardly my fault)
