    Hey guys and gals,

I'm off plan today. Feeling under the weather anyway but i've decided to shake up the plan by going a little crazy.
I had my breakfast as usual (2 choc weetabix and milk) HEB & HEA + 2n then DH popped out and got me the biggest burget and fries possible. (Incidently, does anyone know the syn values for a double whopper with cheese, lg fries, lg onion rings, 2 sachets of tommy sauce and 2 sachets of american style mustard) hehe.
Later i'll finish the last of my SW KFC, have a portion of potato & fish quiche and tuck into a snickers bar.
Depending on how i feel, i may even have a glass of wine.

See, I read that as 1 gram fries and 1 gram onion rings......I thought you'd done awfully well to resist the rest :rotfl::rotfl:(need to get these specs changed I think :o)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Evening all

Another good day, wasn't too hungry so only had brunch and dinner.

    Green day for me:

B - 2 eggs fried in frylight, HM WM toast (HEB)
D - fajitas (12 syns), HM veggie chilli (toms, onions, garlic, sweetcorn, peppers, kidney beans), cheese (2 x HEA, 1 x HEB), sour cream (3syns), lettuce
    Snacks - clementine, FF yog

    Total syns = 15

Didn't find many bargains whilst shopping sadly :(, but am now fully stocked with SW friendly stuff :D

:rotfl:Now that would have been clever to weigh that out.
No, just a very greedy day indeed.

Still deciding whether to have next week as red or to use my dyno-rod soup on green or ee as i made gallons of it. And it is rather tasty. I wouldnt know where to start synning it for red days.

I'm thinking of doing a December freezer challenge for myself :money: and only stocking up on necessary veggies. Then i can use it all up ready to re-stock for Januarys paycheck.

    Yeah man :rotfl:

Thank you TakeItEazy and Dizzy.....I know I can sound like an evangelist sometimes, but done properly SW plans work and I know how easy it is to slide gently off track by tweaking here and there until what your doing is only vaguely like food optimising and you begin to wonder why the weight has stopped coming off. Each to their own but I think any newbies ought to know the right way not a bunch of misinformation which may or may not work.

Have a fantastic holiday Dizzy, don't forget about us altogether :D

I for one am really grateful for your words of wisdom consultant...you've done the training & done the job a long time, you've obviously seen many people mess about and 'tweak' and like you say thats when you let things slide until you're no longer following the plan......then complaining it does'nt work! I remember when I first joined I was making crisps & lasagne tortillas because Id listened to someone else:eek: oooooh what happened....a half pound on that week  posted on here and found out why from you tho.......and havent done it since ;).
I know SW works....Its got me just short of 2 stone off so far despite being immobile...and my tum probs setting me back a bit, so you just carry on putting us right when we are in the wrong!! :T

Hey Im already planning on sniffing out where the internet is at the hotel :D so I can say hello:p
I wont however be posting my menus....you would be too horrified and ban me from darkening your thread ever again :rotfl::rotfl:

Dont even know why i bothered putting a meal plan together today:o. I had a house full of kids wanting sweets, crisps and chocolate all day and in the end i totally caved.

I've just realised how close CRAVED is to CAVED, it's just the R really, so next time think of your rrrrrrs and don't cave :rotfl:

wasn't me hun,i can only put Quark in mash potato,i don't like the texture or the taste of it and when its watery around the edge of the pot? <<shudder>> nasty stuff :(

I tip the runny stuff into a saucer for the cats (and the runny stuff off yoghurt), I think it must be like buttermilk - anyway they love it!
    Yeah man :rotfl:

    ditto re Dizzy's hols!
Also, all I know is the first time I tried SW I questioned and queried everything, and !!!!!ed about everything, and tweaked everything, and I lost .... well nowt really. This time round I gave myself a good talking to. "You are paying £5 a week, might as well follow what they say without questioning it" and I won't say it's been easy, and it hasnt been a direct route, but an average of a pound a week loss is good for me, without any extra exercise. thanks Consultant :T
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    Evening all,

It's been positively tropical here today, as we managed 0* centigrade, and the snow has begun to thaw a little. Harsh frost forecast tonight though, so that means we'll be like Tovill & Dean on the path & roads tomorrow.

I went to my youngest boy's Christmas fayre at his school today, and allowed myself a treat of a mince pie. It's so nice knowing I can allow myself something 'naughty', and not have to worry about it, because I know it's worked into my daily plan.

DKAM - I also have conversations with myself, doing deals in my head about what I can/cannot have. Asking myself if I really need to eat something, or am I just bored or fancying it? I guess if you love eating, you're bound to do that kind of thing.

    Today has been EE:
    B - muller light, banana
L - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans
D - H/made pasta bolognese bake (I might try to work out the syns for it and post the recipe) - 4 syns
Snacks - mince pie (11 syns),
    HEA - milk
HEB - I had wholewheat pasta, and don't want to have extra cals in a Fibre plus bar.

OK, I've worked out my Pasta Bake recipe. I can only calculate it for Extra Easy, but adjust allowances for a Green/Red day using HEB's/HEA's.

    Bolognese & Veg Pasta Bake
    Serves 4 generous portions

    Ing:
300g Extra lean minced beef (HEA on green)
    1 onion chopped
1 courgette (a big one!) diced
    1 carrot diced
    1 pepper diced
    4oz mushrooms
    3 sticks celery chopped
    1 tin/pack of chopped tomatoes
    1tbsp tomato puree
    1 packet of passata
    2 cloves garlic crushed
    Glug of Worcestershire Sauce
    Salt & pepper
    Oxo cube/Bovril
    1 tsp Marigold vegetable stock
    Mixed herbs
200g Wholewheat pasta (enough to cover a lasagne dish) (HEB on original)

    For topping:
1 laughing cow Extra Light cheese triangle (part of HEA or 1 syn)
1 tbsp of grated parmesan (1.5 syns)
Large dollop of very low fat cottage cheese, with onion & chives (free)
100ml skimmed milk (from HEA allowance or 2 syns)
    1 tsp mustard
28g low fat cheddar (4 syns)
    1 tbsp flour/cornflour (3.5 syns)

Total syns: 12 syns = 4 per portion

    Method:
To make the bolognese: Chop the onions, soften them in some water. Add the mince and brown. Sprinkle over the oxo cube. Add the chopped veg, pour over the chopped tomatoes, and about 1/3 of the passata, season with salt & pepper & mixed herbs. Simmer for about 10 mins.

To make the topping: Melt the cheese triangle in a saucepan, with some of the milk, add the flour, and keep adding the milk. It should become a thick sauce. Add the cottage cheese and parmesan. Keep stirring the sauce until the cheese has all melted, and it is smooth.

Put the dry pasta in the bottom of a lasagna dish. Top up the 2/3 of passata left with water, and stir in 1 tsp of Marigold stock (if you don't have this, use seasoning of choice), and some mixed herbs. Pour this over the pasta. Put the bolognese sauce on top of this, and then pour the cheese sauce on top of that. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Cover with foil and bake in the oven for 35-40 mins at 180 degrees.

OH just said how filling the pasta was, and was amazed at how low it was in syns, considering it had the cheese sauce topping. Obviously you could do it without the topping and make it free, and it's ideal to just prepare on the stove in 10 mins, then bung in the oven until cooked. A lovely warming meal ready to eat in under an hour, and ideal eaten the following day for lunch or dinner too. I fed 3 of us with it tonight, and there's at least 1/3 left over. Guess what's for lunch tomorrow?
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

They are back :j i bought Indian oxo cubes in Tesco yesterday . They are in a new box but are on the shelves with the oxo cubes.
I used to use these all the time to make onion Bhajis and then they discontinued them.
    The receipe is really easy
    1 onion
    smash potato
    1 indian oxo cube
chop the onion and put in a bowl with the indian oxo cube and cover with water put it in the microwave for about 10 mins until the onions are soft then mix in some mash potato until u have a stiff mixture to make into balls put them on a oven tray ( if you use the Non Stick Baco foil to line it with its easier to get them off the foil when they are cooked and yu dont need oil or fry llight ) and put in the oven on about 160 degrees until they go brown and dry out approx 20 mins depends how wet they are
Hope this helps you curry lovers !
