I've only just found this thread and wonderful stories it contains too!!

A friends old cat had a list of stolen goodies to his name including a hot roast chicken and a bag of frozen (still frozen) prawns all of which he scaled a 6' high fence with to get into his own garden. I can only being to wonder at the neighbours' conversions about where the hot roast chicken went to. :rotfl:

I'm in the eat it camp, mainly because I'd not waste that much lamb. But would probably have locked the cat out for a couple of days in anger.
  • as someone who was very ill after a cat licked my cooking utensils in a shared house with my knowledge and then i used them to cook my food i would deffo say no to eating it!

Got 3 cats and love them to bits but would not eat food they had licked. Years ago one pinched a chicken that was defrosting and left teeth marks in it. I cut that bit away and cooked it and served it up to the rest of the family but i wouldn't touch it.

Haven't got a cat, but would still eat something my dog had licked....after washing it though. Have often dropped things on the floor and had to wash the dog hairs off! My horse often slobbers over my morning coffee and I wipe it off with a probably not very clean glove.

God, I'm so gross  But always been healthy :rotfl:

Ive always had cats who walked on the surfaces and no doubt licked things and I have never been ill becae of them. Ive now got a puppy and we share some things like the odd biscuit so I cant see a bit of dog lick or cat lick making you ill.

I would defo eat it (if I liked lamb).

I would NEVER EVER let an animal lick my face or mouth (that is just sick).

We have a 2 second rule in our house! If it falls on the floor, as long as it is immediately picked up, and wiped (with hand/tea towel/napkin) it is suitable for our toddlers to eat.

Well, I used to have 2 cats, sisters they were.

I also used to leave my boyfriends packed lunch next the the (Freezing cold) front door, so he would remember it (and not waste money at petrol stations buying Ginsters).

One morning, my fella went downstairs to see the carnage of his lunch after Bella and Babs had opened his cheese and onion roll (and licked the filling off, left the bread) and had also eaten his packet of walkers cheese n onion crisps, leaving just a shredded crisp packet behind!

I wouldn't care but they were very well fed, on posh cat food as they wouldn't touch the tins.

Oh I miss those kids- My boyfriend kept them when we split up.

I also miss cowering in the safety of the bedroom while they brought in (through the cat flap) and chased live mice around the house (Squeak squeak I can hear them now...)
