:hello: Goooooooooood (mid) Morning fellow OS'ers :):):)

Well just returned from my 4hr stint on the gates at the school for the PTA Boot Fair. Very overcast so it was a tad nippy. Was "rewarded" for my efforts with a free Coronation Chicken baguette with unlimited coffee. Don't you just love when they offer you free coffee but you daren't drink any because, with the cold especially, you just know it will go right through you and the toilets are a looooong way from the gate ;)

I know we're all money savers, but one thing which really surprised me were the number of people who were at pains to avoid giving a "donation" to the bucket in entrance. What's that all about? Still, had a lovely time bantering with the people and a quiet chuckle at some of their driving skills (or rather, lack of! ) Anyway, as a result of this mornings endeavours, I've been invited to sit on the Committee. Couldn't really refuse when I discovered they only *have* 4 members (shocking!). Yet, despite such low numbers, they still managed to raise £10k last year :T I've offered to be Chief Wine Tester for thier Wine & Wisdom evenings, but that position has already been taken ;)

Now I'm home, it's nose to the grindstone; with not being well, things have stacked up. :o Think my usual 20 whip round will take a good 40mins today. Need to press on with some Christmas sewing too.

Day 6 of freedom from nic and yesterday I "rewarded" myself with a new (to me) hair product which was 1/3rd off at Sainsbury's. Some sort of hair shine/sparkle/lustre cream, so this afternoon, I'm going to get out my pamper basket and have a silly half hour of 'me time' doing 'girlie' stuff :p

SOMO1 - how are you rewarding your successes? Or are you putting the money in a jar and watching it grow?

Planning on having a baking session tomorrow, so a read through my cookery books will be on the agenda for early evening so if I should need any ingredients, I can get them first thing in the morning.

Have a super MS Saturday every one :D

PP my OH has said that to me before and it cuts like a knife to be honest, I am with hime because i love him just like your OH loves you, I am sure he understand like I do that having a disability is hard to deal with sometimes and you don't mean what you say.
Go give him a huge hug:D

the other day both OH and I were having a downer day feeling really p155ed off and we met a guy who I thought was in his late 70's but he was in his 50's turned out he has terminal cancer and about 8 weeks to live. put things into perspective to us that day.

I was feeling sorry for myself as I have been sneezing, wheezing and coughing all night - having read some of the above posts - I now realise that it is just a blip and thank the heavens for comparative good health!

Hugs to everyone having a rough day.

Have just had home made bread toasted and a coffee, got myself dressed and will just "potter" today.

No idea about tea for later but may dig something out of the freezer and make some potato wedges using the big bag I got last week. lovely done in the oven with spices sprinkled over them.

    Afternoon everyone :hello:

(((hugs))) to all those that need them and those who don't.

Thank goodness it's the weekend! I'm exhausted and last night did my favourite Friday night trick of falling asleep on the sofa because I'm too tired to drag my body upstairs. Managed it in the end.

DH has still got "man flu" (ie the common cold ) - although the other night it had apparently turned into SARS  . He's going to Spain tomorrow night for a week through work. I've accused him of deserting me in my hour of need (ie HMI visit). He has given me permission to visit the chippy ONCE whilst he's away. His mum has also invited me round for supper one night and Thursday night (when HMI is all over) I'm going for supper at a friend's house. Meals and washing up are all sorted!

However, I foolishly said that my friend's little bro could come and stay tomorrow night. He's at boarding school in our town and their half term starts today but his parents can't pick him up (they live near Aberdeen) until Monday. He's such a lovely 15 year old and really easy to get on with for an age where he could easily act like Kevin the Teenager, as my brother was like and still is (at the age of 25!). Think I'll make him a spag bol so that I can have another portion during the week and freeze the rest.

We've been to the Farmers' Market in town today too. Got a few lovely bits and pieces, including some chocolate brownies and shortbread . Oooh, and some olive ciabatta, ostrich burgers, freshly pressed apple juice AND the minced beef for tomorrow night's spag bol. Yum! :)

A Tesco Express opened in the town yesterday, but DH and I are boycotting it as there are still plenty of nice local shops (a greengrocer, 2 lovely butchers etc etc) that need to stay open. We're feeling quite virtuous today, but it's going to stay open really late which will be handy if I ever need milk. We'll see how long I stay out of there for basics...........

Sorry, I've jabbered on for far too long. Better get on and do some planning.

Queenie, well done :T Really proud of you, and SOMO01 - how you doing? (I sound like Joey from Friends) :rotfl:

Have been running around like a headless chicken today. DD1 had drama club this morning, so after dropping her off, I did Saturday morning 'big shop' at Asdas. Then rushed home to take DD2 and her friend to cinema with Mr Frizz to see Barbie preview film. (Free tickets off Freebie board) I had to go, because I had one of the messages on my phone. So Mr Frizz got the short straw and took them in and then I dashed off to Costco, to grab the Kitchen Roll BOGOF before it runs out tomorrow. DD1 is at a friends for the afternoon. :D

So now I am just making the most of a quiet house before they all get back. :D No need to do anything else today now, as its Saturday Night Takeaway (thanks Ant and Dec for inventing that:T) so it'll be a Chinese in front of the TV for us all tonight - ooooo I love cosy autumn/winter evenings. :D

    Have a great day all.
    Frizz :D
