I went to town instead and bought some more, not very cheap tools, but they do have a 25 year guarentee.

    Good Morning All

Can I join the bad nighters. I got up for some water - checked for slugs in the kitchen. Unfortunately this woke DS who came into bed with us so I spent the rest of the night clinging to the edge of the bed.

Getting rid of my fireguard via freecycle this morning. Makes me feel good someone's going to get use out of it. Though it's another step on the "no more babies" road.

Sausage casserole for dinner - breaking out SC again. DS wants meatballs but I want to use up the peppers I bought at the beginning of the week. He can have meatballs tomorrow - he's 4 and definitely not OS. (Apart from preferring HM food that is)

take care everyone - I'm off to attack breakfast. Made the mistake of asking people what kind of eggs they wanted - and of course they all want different. I should have just scrambled them and let them get on with it.

Bertie: Thanks for the recommendation, I have been looking for a new CD as the Nursery Rhyme one we have is getting alittle wearing if you know what I mean.

Freyaluck: Thanks for the reminder we to need new wellies.

Hugs to everybody not feeling on top form with aching bones etc.

Today my dad is coming round to cap off the gas supply to the old gasfire so it can be taken out,. I cant wait. Once that out we need to work out how much the hole needs to be extended to take the stove.

While he is doing that I will be nipping to town with the munchkin otherwise her grandad will not get a minutes peace. We need to get wellies as I mentioned above and also a waterproof winter coat.

Later I need to do some batch cooking as my OS has gone completely to pot recently and we ended up with shop bought pizzas on thursday and takeaway last night. My budget is blown so I better try and rein it in somehow.

    Have a good day everyone

I think I had rather too much sleep after going to bed early feeling grotty - now feel lousy cos I've slept too much

Mr LMLOD has gone to work so after breakfast I will be blitzing the house and then going to visit my parents. Thankfully, the house is reasonably clean and tidy as I feel a bit woolly headed so shouldn't take too long.

Breakfast: Don't really feel like anything TBH
    Lunch: Cheese & Tomato Toastie
    Dinner: Chilli & Rice/Baked Spuds

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning all.
I love Saturdays - don't know why - a throw back to my youth?

Anyhow today we are going to reorganise the office and then, if I've time,
    I will (((((((((SHORTEN THE CURTAINS)))))))))

What can I say, apart from I'm trying and there are not enough hours in the day.

Must get meat from freezer for lunch tomorrow - there's a lovely shoulder of pork lurking in there - one of those rare breeds - taste (and smells when cooking) like pork used to. Think I'll cook some red cabbage to go with it, and roast the potato's in goose fat. (The Lidl gooses last Xmas were fantastic value and we only ate the last one last month). Ooh, roll on tomorrow!

Take care of all those aching joints - hope those who need it are taking glucosamine supplements. (Excellent research results).

    Have a lovely day.

I've just seen the thanks button has disappeared - are you only allowed to thank so many people a day?

    Hi everyone:)

My 2 boys have got a judo grading today so OH will be out with them all morning. I'm taking dd to her dance classes. While she's there I'm going to visit a farmshop for squashes. They had a huge variety last week and I made a fab butternut squash soup so I'm eager to try more. I expect I'll buy some other fruit and veg there too.

Soup for a late lunch (by the time everyone's back from their pursuits) and as a rare treat fish and chips for tea:j We only have them 2-3 times a year, OH has been told about a chippy that fries the chips in real dripping ;) Must make sure we have fruit for pud to balance the chips out.

    morning folks!

just waiting for parents to arrive for the day, visiting from their home in brum.. only had 5 hours sleep last night, went to bed that late and was up that early. Have to say i feel okay for it.. bit stiff from all the hard work i put in yesterday but.. *shrugs*..

only bad news is that i just went to check the weight of the chicken i *had* planned for our lunch (doing a roast) when i found that its rather whiffy. the use by date is today so it should not have gone off yet, so i'm waiting for the parents to arrive in their car (we don't have one) and then am gonna ask them really nicely if they can run me up to Tesco so that i can get a) my money back and b) another chicken, and then offer them the option of waiting for the chicken to cook, or me cooking spag bol or something like that.

I'm not upset though - quite the opposite.. the last time this happened it was with an Asda chicken, and customer services not only gave me my money back, they told me to get the biggest chicken i could find, even though technically it was a couple of sizes up (and price brackets) from the one that i had originally bought! I'm kinda hoping Tescos does the same thing - i'm going to point out that i had bought it for a visit and now i'm not going to have anything to offer my family - see if they might offer me a BBQ rotisserie chicken as well... :p at the very minimum i should get my money back and a free chicken so... :j rubber chicken time!!!

the only other thing of note: i'm wearing a pair of jeans that i rescued from the wardrobe... they haven't seen the light of day (much less been worn) since about 1997/8, and i got into them - and comfortably!! I have to do my weigh in on monday, but i reckon i should dip below the 16 stone mark - and considering that i started out at over 18 stone at my heaviest a couple of years ago (the first stone i lost in the intervening years, the second stone in the last 4/5 weeks) i'm dead chuffed with my progress.

anyway, have a good day, folks!

    :hello: :hello: everyone

Feeling very depressed this morning............its another grey day and we have just had our water bill £220.49 for 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We are on a meter and all through the summer we have been using the water from washing up and showers to water the garden, they have charged us £66 for treating water which bloody well did not go down the drain.

I am so fed up with trying to keep our heads above water, we live on as little as possible, yes we have a car, without it we would not be able to go to the allotment, visit my friend or one of my daughters, its very econimcal a deisel which does 60 to the gallon on a long run. We either use the bus or walk to our shopping centre except when we have a large grocery shop......I refuse to cut down on the heating any more than we do, with an expected bill of over £400 for water next year I really feel I can no longer cope.

OH is hopeless with money, he just will not handle anything, justs leaves things to pile up which is why I do all the banking etc...........everything we can is paid by DD and I put money away each for car tax and servicing and try to save so we have at least one holiday a year even if its in a crappy caravan on a site somewhere. Is our destiny to have to resort to the Daily Mirrors £9.50 holiday?????

We always go SC cannot afford anything else, I cook and freeze as much as I can before we go so we do not spend too much whilst we are there, just deisel and the odd treat..........

Sorry to be so moany but to be quite honest I no longer see the point in struggling.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
