Take That Tour Tickets - what a nightmare for the fans

Options
I have followed with interest the sale of the Take That tickets today for their tour next year. I feel really sorry for all those fans who haven't managed to get any and don't understand why so many are already appearing on ebay ??? and at very inflated prices. :(

The genuine ticket agencies must have predicted the overwhelming demand so why didn't they prepare for it ? I don't understand how people could have secured tickets when websites such as ticketma$ter had crashed before 9am ! and thus be selling them on via ebay and the re-sale ticket agencies ?

there must be a fairer way for tickets for such high profile / high demand acts to be sold than this but I don't have any ideas :(

I couldn't care less about Take That, but I do get very angry at ticket touts hoovering up all of the best tickets simply to sell on at a profit. It already costs an arm and leg buying tickets at face value for most concerts these days. I really wish something could be done to ban ticket touting.

And I can't work out how places like Ticketmaster/Seetickets can get away with charging handling fees as a percentage of the ticket value - it doesn't cost any more to print or post. The best bit is the bargain £2.95 charge to print out your own tickets!

I loaded up all 6 ticket sites through the official take that website half an hour before they went on sale and kept refreshing them with 5 minutes to go. 3 of the sites went down just before 9 but ticketmaster and seetickets worked. I got put in a queue on seetickets and a few minutes after being put in a queue it went through to entering details.

I did like how seetickets had text only and changed the home page to the take that tickets so it decreased bandwith usage.

I do hate the ticket touts buying them in bulk to sell on 5 times the price.

Definitely a legitimate company. Based in the town centre as far back as I can remember.

  • I have been trying since they went on sale with no luck-To see the amounts they are going for on ebay is so annoying. I will wait and see if I manage to get some but if not I wont resort to over the odds prices from touts, I would rather spend the money on something else than have it go in their pockets.

I think most of the ones on eBay are speculative in the way that people are selling them before they've got them. You could put up 4 tickets for sale on eBay at 9am then spend a couple of hours getting the tickets you've just sold.

However, I also don't agree with people buying them to sell on eBay. I have secured 4 tickets for Wembley on the 1st July for my wife and her friends. If they don't want them (it's a surprise so she doesn't know yet), I'll see if other friends want them at cost..... or start a bidding war between friends ;-)
  • Been trying to get my disabled daughter tickets since 9am - no joy!

Got through to Ticket Factory this morning (one of the official companies listed in the official tour advert), who have their own disabled access contact phone number.

They told me for the Take That tour they aren't dealing with this, and I should dial 0115 912 9000 (SeeTickets)

Finally got through to them about 9.30 this eve after trying all day, and they said NO they don't do disabled access tickets, I should dial 0870 400 0750.

That number just came up with a message saying 'line not in service'

    AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!

I've also tried Ticketmaster 0844 847 1655, which claims to be an official Take That disabled access number, according to the recorded message you get when you call it, but after the message ends, the line goes dead! Its done that all day since 9am !

Can anyone point us in the right direction please?

    thanks
