Incorrectly fitted car tyre compensation/goodwill payment

Why though?
The garage made a mistake and rectified it - they also refunded you the cost of that error - you got that tyre fitted correctly for free (albeit at a second attempt).
Why should all the others be free?
The "what ifs" don't come into it at all because nothing happened. Any possibility of a blow out or crash is irrelevant because nothing happened.
Should I sue the next driver I see not indicating because there could have been an accident?
In your job, if you make a mistake do you still get paid next time you get it right? Or do you forfeit your pay for the next half dozen times you get it right?
I still don't see how you feel you're entitled to anything over and above the cost of the refund you've already had.
The garage made a mistake and then tried to tell me that the tyre was perfectly fitted and ok even though it blatantly wasn't. I had to stand my ground and insist that it be re-fitted.
Now if I make a mistake at my work, I don't lie to the customer and say that they're wrong and that it's meant to be that way. I acknowledge the error, apologise profusely and rectify the problem. It's called good customer service.
What I received was poor customer service on not one occassion but two. Do you think it's ok for a mechanic to try and con a female?
Refunding all of the fitting charges (nothing else on top, even though I have been inconvenienced) would be like the apology that I never got from the garage.0 -
I'm just waiting for the OP to play the race card next....................0

Don't be so stupid. Firstly, he was incredibly lucky to have not had an accident. This can atrributed to the fact that he held on extremely tightly to the steering wheel (read part about blister). Secondly, if anything had happened to him, he'd be suing his employers.
Frankly this is all getting ridiculous now. I have had a few good responses from sensible people and too many stupid posts from men who are obviously in the motoring industry or have friends / relatives that are.
