OK this hopefully (fingers crossed) should show you Priory Queensway. Just tried it and its a zoomed out map of Birmingham grrrrr. Put in post code B4 6PH and zoom in (with birds eye view) and you should see Priory Queensway on the map and Birmingham Snow hill.
If you can see in the pic a load of buses (red and blue topped) - this is where you'll be dropped Caterina. It's alongside a very large Argos store and its next to Priory Square which is a small shopping precinct-come-market.
If you walk towards the roundabout and follow Corporation Street (the first left off the island from the bus stops) and then turn right down onto Bull Street you will approach Temple Street (which is where the back entrances to House of Fraser are). Follopw Temple Street and this will bring you out into St Phillips Place. The otherside of the cathedral (opposite it's entrance) is OJS pub. Colmore Row runs alongside St Phillips Place and from here you can catch a bus or taxi to take you up to Broad Street. You can walk to Broad Street but it's a good 15 min walk through Paradise Forum next to the Central Library - this brings you out into Centenary Square (ICC, The Rep theatre) on one side and Broad Street runs along the other. The Novotel is further up Broad Street.

    Hope that helps someone :rotfl:

    I am also Hfd/Worcs/Shrop .

Bitsy - have you any idea about parking in the area? I'm still trying to talk OH into coming but the parking seems to be one of his sticking points. Thanks :D

Well there are several NCP car parks in the city centre, all multistorey and not cheap for all day parking. There is one car park that charge a lower rate but TBH trying to give directions is going to be a bit  and if it's full you're stuffed anyway.
There is parking for the Bull Ring etc - if you need any more info let me know.

  • Frugalista, if some of us are staying at a hotel, it might be worth finding out about the carparks there;) I am going by train and I think the Caterinas are going by bus, don't know if anyone else is doing an overnight visit, but if my hotel (when I get round to booking) has parking for guests, you would be welcome to use my reservation - I'm not sure how it would work, but I will find out and keep you in mind. :)

  • Right going is £14, and coming home is £38, what are my chances of getting this cheaper ladies? (train) and the Novotel doesn't include breakfast which is £13.95 so I won't be going there :rotfl:

Thanks for that jackieglasgow - it would be fantastic if that could be done - it would also help me twist OH's arm up his back! :rotfl::rotfl:

How far is the meet from the Bullring carpark Bitsy? I have been to the rag market in the past and have found a reasonably priced car park near there - is it within walking distance from there?

You can walk from the rag market to the pub - it's a good 15 min walk but certainly do-able.
