One of the pubs I really like is the Old Joint Stock, it's not slap bang in the middle of the shops (it's actually opposite Birmingham Cathedral), Broad Street where the main "mile" of bars and nightlife along with Brindley place which has some more eateries is a good 10 min walk from the shopping area of Brum.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

I should be fine for that date too. Just a thought can the venue be scooter accessible? Many thanks xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Check the sales on the Travelodge, they have prices around £19-22! I am going to book as soon as there is a firm date! Please let me know if 22nd Jan is the definite date and I shall go and book straight away! DH is also quite excited about it, never been to Birmingham before, just through it!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi Guys,
The pub has disabled access around the back and inside to some extent. Perhaps we can encourage Lamewolf to come with us? Kids Dad or DD will bring me and go off for a couple of hours but I will need to stay put until he gets back. Ohhh really excitedI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Caterina, I found the Travelodge to be £32.50, which is fine, OH can buy me it for my birthday
but any hints on train fayres? The 7th of Jan is a lot lot cheaper than the 22nd, is there a particular time period you should aim for to get cheap prices? Or another operator (I just checked Virgin as not really sure)?
