Following the Skype crash, they are working on a fix, but these are the instructions for a manual fix:

    http://heartbeat.skype.com/2011/05/problems_signing_into_skype_an.html

I have tried it & just managed to get back in. But I see there has been no further chat since the crash.

What would you like me to do Weezl?

My thoughts were that the prices for the two planners were Jul/Aug 2010. Do you want me to re-cost these out? And if you are going ahead with the third, I could have a go at writing shopping list(s) & costing.

The obvious (to me!) article for helping Shirl go solo would be meal planning. There’s plenty of material over on OS. Would you like me to give this one a go? And maybe include some info about other ways of doing this, e.g. ‘the pantry principle’?

started Slimming World last week, and amazingly, the very lovely Smoked Salmon Pasta is free if you use the healthy extra A choice (milk) in the sauce!

Am really interested in this as I'm doing SW, too. But with the flour and oil how do you make sure its free on plan?

If I can work this into plan I'll be really thrilled as it sounds delicious. :)

I just use a tiny bit of oil, just a smear (the equivalent of Fry Light), which is then free. The onions still fry ok. My daughter has an expensive frying pan, where nothing sticks, and she doesn't need to use any oil at all. May splash out to get one

I asked my consultant about breakfast pancakes as I love these, and she said if I use wholemeal flour, I can use the flour as HEB. I tried them with wholemeal, but they weren't as nice, so I use white, and make sure I have extra fibre elsewhere that day

so with the salmon pasta, I have slightly less HEB that day (say 40g bread instead of 57g) and use 10g flour using it as part of HEB

that's how I count it and I don't think it's stretching the definition of 'free' too far - do you?

I agree -and I'm fortunate to have been gifted one of those clever non stick pans from my lovely mum so it looks like I'm set to go. :T

Thanks so much for your help. Shall start pondering the rest of the recipes now for ideas. I WILL lose weight on a budget! :D

    hi everyone,

do you what really helped me lose weight, amazing the carrot cake.

I spoke to my gp about it and apparently its the lack of sugar as well as a chemical reaction between the orange, carrot and raisins helped you feel full but lose weight at the same time. :j

I actually put on weight when i stopped following the plan!

Just made the carrot cake for the first time tonight - DH really likes it, and so do I! :D Shall be making that again. I'll be going through all of the recipes again to pick some more out. Thanks, everyone. :)

Is this the most current thread? (I can't stand facebook).

I would like to say how much I love the CFR website. It has taken me months and months to get DH to agree to go on the monthly planner (he usually did the cooking). Anyway, we have just started, drawn by its cheapness and its nutritional balance. And we love it, really love it. DS actually asked for porridge twice! I've taken over the cooking mainly (partly to free up DH's time, and partly to prove once and for all that it is possible to clean and clear as you go along!)

My big loves is how yummy everything is,and how easy, and probably the first time in my life if it says you'll get 17 pancakes I actually do get 17 without effort! I hate making pastry but how good was the onion tart and the chicken and onion pie. And tonight after work I gave DS the laptop and he made bean curry without me even going through it or checking it. And it was piping hot on serving. DD is a toddler and she loves the food too. I used to be good at 'rustic style' home made (tasted lovely but not posh looking) but everything I've made so far looks as great as it tastes.

Thank you all so much. Website is great - much easier to sell it to DH when he can view it so easily. He agreed to the meat version. However, I shall run in option 2 straight after and I bet he won't notice.

We're having a staycation this summer so will try the celebratory one then.

I can't tell you how delighted I am with it.
