Tiredness is all part of being pregnant i was tired before i found out,all through my pregnancy and even now 4 and a half years on i'm still tired!!!!!!!!!
Although mummy of 3 is right i was anemic(low in iron).0 -
When I was pregnant with my first I would wake up, go to work, fall asleep on the bus home, eat dinner, go straight to bed and then not wake up until the next morning. I barely saw daylight.
My second, I wasn't working anymore but still had to be in bed by 10pm and nap during the day.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Your original post seems quite disbelieving that pregnancy can affect women this much.[\QUOTE]
Yep, you're right- I didn't believe it could. Like I say, I have never been pregnant. Every pregnant woman that I have ever had any dealings with never seemed to be this sickly (My Mum said she didn't know anyone who'd been quite that weak through pregnany either). I did think she was putting it on.Does she know what you think? - might be part of the reason she's too tired to visit you!
Lol, no she doesnt know- and in any case, she's my DHs brothers wife...she was meant to be coming with her husband to visit his brother- not to see me! Anyhoo, I suspected she was playing games (and making excuses) because she has a lonnnnngggggg history of being an attention seeker and being a cow towards me in sly ways- I just thought this was another one of her ploys! Obvioulsy not.0 -
Well turn it around and go visit them.:D
She may be genuinely feeling tired, it is very draining, although I admit with it being a first it does sometimes feel like you're the only woman it ever happened to!!
Her dh would probably welcome a help with some shopping or something.
Leaves you two shining whiter than a Daz wash doing it this way instead of just complaining about her being a sly cow!!;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Hi, could definetley be genuine, last year I was working nights, already have 2 children, felt really tired and sicky, I put this down to trying to stop snacking on night shift. If we went out in the car you could guarantee I would start to doze, I didn't feel right after a week of this and had a lightning moment that the last time I felt really tired was when first preg with 2nd. Reluctantly I did a pre test to find out preg and now have a beautiful daughter. Agree about sickness too, with 1st I had a few hours in an afternoon where I could eat without throwing it straight back up, this alone can make you tired as you don't have much energy.:smileyhea:heart: Mrs Lea Nov 5th '11

Sounds reasonable to me. I have friend in exactly the same situation.
TBH, why can't you just take her word for it? What's stopping you going to visit her instead?0 -
can be completely normal for some people to be this tired - and i've looked after hundreds of pregnant women as a midwife0

I have a family member who's pregnant and since she found out she's been CONSTANTLY tired, always 'having to go for a lie down' every 10 minutes, too weak to lift a finger (her husband is doing EVERYTHING for her)- cant stop at work for a full day and 'is too tired to visit our house' 45 minutes away.
Is this normal for someone who is 12-13 weeks pregnant or is she playing on it?
It was like that for me - I couldn't keep my eyes open for any length of time during the 1st 4 months. I kept having to have naps in my lunch hour & naps when I got home from work. I also had time off work so I could sleep.
I was more tired during early pregnancy than I was when I had glandular fever (and I slept for 36 hours at a time with that!)Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 027
