How did you feel during pregnancy

Definitely could be genuine. I'm 20 weeks with my second and suffer terribly with sickness and tiredness. I get so annoyed when people try to judge how someone else is feeling. Everyone has different experiences. For me it is like having a stomach virus for 9 months - the last thing that you feel like doing is visiting family members who you suspect might be making it up!!!! Her husband is probably helping her through this time as he can see how she is feeling. I think that you should give her the benefit of the doubt.0

I have a family member who's pregnant and since she found out she's been CONSTANTLY tired, always 'having to go for a lie down' every 10 minutes, too weak to lift a finger (her husband is doing EVERYTHING for her)- cant stop at work for a full day and 'is too tired to visit our house' 45 minutes away.
Is this normal for someone who is 12-13 weeks pregnant or is she playing on it?
I was totally physically exhausted, particularly during the first few months. I was having to go to bed at 9pm every night or I would just fall asleep!
I would say that it was genuine, and even if it isn't let the poor woman have a bit of tlc while she can!0 -
I'm 12 weeks at the moment and work full time. I find it so hard to work a full day and often have to go for little walks to stay awake.
When I get home I knock out till the next day. Every pregnancy is different so you can never tell.0 -
Sounds plausible to me. My pregnancy wasn't planned and I had no idea I was pregnant but I started falling asleep on the sofa in the evenings and feeling like everything was a physical struggle, which is something that I never ever ever did before. It was only when I found out that I was pregnant that it suddenly all made sense.....0

Sounds like me up to being about 15 weeks (Am now 38), I was working full time & coming home having tea and then off to bed about 6.30pm.
Then I suddenly felt really well up to about 30 weeks and then the tiredness took over again.**Trying my best to be the best that I can**

I was EXACTLY the same with my first, had absolutely no idea anything was going on till tiredness hit - at first I thought I was ill! Had to look it up on the Internet to find that excessive tiredness is a really common symptom early on. Pregnant with number 3 now, and am a bit past that stage, but honestly felt like I'd been drugged for several weeks!!
All pregnancies are different though, I missed out on most of the other unpleasant side effects though so I reckon I was lucky!0 -
My first pregnancy, i had morning sickness, went to dr who asked if id try acupuncture to solve it, so i said yes, he put a needle in my wrist, twirled it around a few times and said go home and sleep. I followed his advice, all be it feeling very sceptical that a fine needle could stop the sickness, but it did. The next morning i felt fine. Later during the pregnancy i felt dog tired, often sleeping about 12-14 hours and still feeling tired, but it passed. Pregnancy number 2, no sickness, just felt faint after getting up suddenly and i worked up until two weeks before she was born. Each pregancy and person is different. Tell your friend thats what its going to be like after as well for the first few weeks! And yes the lady in the avatar is me

If you care at all, drop off a few casseroles, they will be really really apprecieated! And if this is her first pregnancy, let her enjoy the chance to be idle....it'll be her last chance for the rest of her life!;)
I can agree with this.
Had a rough pregnancy and labour.
I had 9 months of extreme sickness (and a 9lb10 baby). I lost over a stone in the beginning.
I did manage to work 30 hrs a week (not sure how)
Nobody (except my family and husband) realise how bad it was.
Even now people who are pregnant say I'm just like you were , but they have no idea.
I would listen to her and try and help. Offer to visit her.
I did manage to do things but there were things I couldn't manage eg cooking and washing up
It is hard workGive me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
it's 'normal' to ALWAYS be tired.
Yes!
It's like someone gave you 4 valium and a handful of sleeping pills then tied lead weights to your eyelids.Just run, run and keep on running!0
