  • Went to Mr A today to pick up a couple of dresses I had ordered online ( which btw didn't fit :( ) and actually refrained from buying a single thing :T

Also found a whole chicken in the freezer last night. It had April as the use by date on it so I defrosted it and it seems fine ( no smell to it ) so I'm doing a roast chicken for dinner and will make a curry from the left overs. Do you think it's ok to use a chicken thats been in the freezer that long? I can't tell you how stupidly excited I got over the fact I found a chicken in the freezer, so I do hope it's ok :o
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011 :D

..........I may have to sulk - as I appear to be the only person in the country who hasn't got/had some snow :'-(

We haven't got any either, we're just outside London - the kids are constantly checking the weather forecast, been talking to Family in Scotland this morning, they've got Snow and don't want it, we've not got any and want some!! Just really feel for the people who can't get out and about when the Snow is bad and this looks set to last a while.

Dinner tonight is HFW pot roast chicken, have everything in I need so won't need to buy anything until tomorrow and that will come out of my December GC.

Good luck to those still to declare.;)
    "WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"
GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

  • Went to the Good Food Show at the NEC today & spent ANOTHER £30! However on the whole I was pretty pleased with my haul as apart from 2 normal brownies & 2 gluten free brownies, nothing else was junk & will have long use by dates. I was particularly pleased to find some of the elusive (sp?) gluten free cereal that I have been struggling to find & the stall confirmed that Tesco have stopped selling it although I suspect Sain*burys have as well as I can't find it there either. Anyway managed to get 3 packets of that & at a much cheaper price than the supermarkets charged. I also got a huge bag of apples for a £1 & 2 free bags of potatoes, although tbh I don't really need any more potatoes.

Skilly - wow, what an amazing achievement? :T

Hippeechiq - do you do your recording of your spends into your different catorgories manually or on the pc? I want to do the same & wondering what would be the best way to do it?

I spent €68 in 3 small shops this weekend. Well, smallish.

€15 in Superquinn on Thursday, mainly to get some turkey but also got a few other bits while there.
€53 in M&S Friday for 2 dine in meals, extra milk, part-baked bread, cheese, and a meal for DD - oh, and desert for my sis and her BF who were babysitting Sat.
And €5 this morning on bread and frozen peas in the corner shop. To have some bread in and veggies as the weather is a bit nuts.

We had a BBQ on the green for lunch today - most of the neighbours on the street came out and contributed something. And we all enjoyed a couple of hours in the sunshine.
I put the whole chick in to roast and we had that with roast spuds and spinach. And I used some of the pastry I had taken from freezer (it didn't thaw in time to make some mince pies for the green gathering), to make some mince pies for work instead (I have a few jars to use up from previous years, and a large jar maturing for this year) and I am using the other half to make a chick and mush pie with gravy for tomorrow's dinner. With chick sambos for lunches and another chunk of chick left (maybe 1 sambo or a 1 person dinner). I am too tired though, and don't have freezer room, to consider stock this week (I do usually but just not this time).

I think, looking at my sig, that I can declare for the month on €348.

Can I be put down for €611 for December please, Mrs Macawber, when you are doing the new thread?

I do it on the pc hun

    I don't have MS 0ffice, and although I've downloaded 0pen Office, I don't understand it! lol

So mine is the very simplest of documents created in Notepad, but whereas, I understand a spreadsheet totals things up for you as you go along (and that is the sum total of my knowledge of spreadsheets ;)) I have to add it up myself. But done on a daily basis, it really takes no time at all, especially as pc's have a calculator on them.

I have tried posting it on here, but it doesn't a line up under the appropriate headings and tabs for some reason, which makes it just look like a load of words and figures all jumbled together, and so wouldn't give you a clear idea of how it's laid out.

At the risk of sounding a bit like an "Anorak", I'd be more than happy to email you a copy of my November budget so you can see what I mean if you pm me your addy :)

A NSD here today, so I'm still hanging on by my fingernails :D
