    Declaring £228.48 for November.

    I am happy with this, even if I was over budget as it is the first time.

    For December I am going to up my budget as DD is home from uni and I havent bought in any treats for Christmas.

    December £400

    I have been shopping this morning so will update signature in a bit.
    I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Forgot to my mushrooms for my beef goulash tonight :mad:...didn't have any in Mr T (they were having a delivery when I arrived), so I walked down the road and found a local shop which sold them at £2.99 per kilo so spent 67p. Updated signature...again :o

    Using Nectar points for the January shop is a very good idea Moniker! I'll remember that for next year! :-)

    MRSMCAWBER, thanks for adding me to the GC for December :)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Just having a lazy tea, i've chucked some oven chips in the cooker and i'm making a cheese and chive omellete which we will have with corn on the cob.
    I have been quite industrius today as i have loads of record cards (i just need a small file box to put them in) and i am writing out all my fave recipes from my cookbooks and from online and i'm including my own recipes too. I tend not to peruse my cookbooks as often as i probably should, so thought if i collated my fave recipes in one place then i would vary our meals much more. So that's my plan, it will take a while to write them all out, but little by little i'll no doubt get there!
    Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
  • Another spend today of 99p. Forgot I had to bake cakes for a charity stall at a fair today. Still I managed to make a batch of coconut cupcakes with coconut buttercream, a batch of chocolate chip cupcakes with chocolate buttercream and made 2 lots of coffee kisses and only just ran out of icing sugar so had to pop to the corner shop to get some so I'm quite pleased at what I managed from stuff I just had in.
    Tonight is a lazy tea of oven chips and some of the birds eye cod I got from Mr S the other night. It looks as though we're going no-where tomorrow as the snows pretty bad here so I might take out the pack of diced lamb I have in the freezer and make a curry for tomorrow night which means we'll just have something light for lunch. Really trying to stay away from supermarkets until pay day, even turned down my fiance's offer of popping to the shop for a bottle of wine last night as that would have been another £5
    Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!
    Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011 :D
    I cant remember who it was that originally posted about the L£dl steaks but when I went in today they were £4.79 :( Any ideas if this is a local offer or if our shop just had it wrongly priced??
    Just checked on-line (which shows me offers relevant to my local store), and it's showing 400g Rump Steak reduced from £4.49 to £2.24 for today and tomorrow only.
    Thanks for the info :)
    They were £2.24 in my local Lidl today as I got two packs, as well as 3 lots of pork chops, 4 lots of mince & a free range chicken. Also got the £8 frozen turkey crown in Morrisons. I did two shops in Lidl today using two £5 vouchers. My freezer is now very full but unfortunately I still have a few things to get as I couldn't get them in Lidl or Morrisons.
    I am going to the Good Food Show tomorrow in Birmingham with the kids & no doubt there will be more pennies spent there but hopefully I will also get some vouchers.
    I sort of hope that we will get paid early for December but then on the other hand it does then make January a veeery long month.
