What! are doing them cheap as well only i can never get the double size i want, are these nasty as well...
Who is What!?
The fact is that good quality memory foam is expensive, as is good quality reflex foam. So to sell a mattress that is good quality and supportive for £100 wouldn't be possible.0 -

However they are far from being the best. In fact they came out bottom in the Which magazine report on memory foam mattresses.
Tempur mattresses are a layer of reflex foam with a layer of memory foam on top. Reflex foam only mattresses have long been regarded as cheap and nasty, hot and sweaty mattresses. So in effect they have just taken one of these horrible mattresses, and glued a layer of memory foam to it.
Before memory foam the best type of mattress for back support was pocket sprung. This is because the springs all work independently, and contour to your body, giving far better support than reflex foam or open coil springs ever could.
So obviously a mattress that is pocket sprung with memory foam will be by far the best for support. And you can get a top quality one that is two sided so it will last longer, for about a third of the price of the very over priced Tempur mattress. And it will give better support, as well as being cooler.
don't waste your time asking what mattress he would recommend cause he cannot tell you . but if typed his name into google you might find outBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

Invalidation, I'd recommend you get a memory foam mattress topper to tide you over until you can get together enough money for a full mattress. I've been using a topper for the last six months and it has improved my quality of sleep no end (I have hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos, fibromyalgia and nerve damage to my lower back, so things tend to dislocate in my sleep a lot, especially on a regular mattress).
I know that you can get a decent single MF mattress topper from B&M for £29, a double for £50. I have the double on my bed right now and it's great. Good luck!Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

A topper is a good temporary solution, but you can't get a decent double MF topper for £50. You can get a very low quality, and low density one, which may be better than you had previously, but it is far from ideal.0 -

Can, too. I am in chronic pain, and my being woken from sleep because of it has been vastly reduced in frequency with this topper of mine. That's decent in my book.
Besides which, you have a particular bias in this discussion, so please don't try to tell me that my topper is not decent as far as it goes - I think your understanding of the term is flawed, considering the situation!Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

I didn't say it wouldn't help, but it won't help as much as a decent memory foam topper. However a decent one would be far mor expensive.
The optimum density of the memory foam should be 60 to 70kg per m3, and the optimum depth should be 2".
I don't have a bias, as i don't sell toppers.0 -

No, you keep saying that. "Decent" is relative. The OP cannot afford what you would call a "decent" memory foam mattress at present, so I doubt sie can afford a "decent" topper right now either - and the one I'm telling hir about, though not good by your standards, is one that ought to be okay and a bit better than none at all until sie can afford the full mattress.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. I completely understand your point, and I agree with most of what you were saying.
I wasn't trying to argue with you, I was just pointing out that although your topper obviously does help you, that if the OP can afford to pay a bit more then they can get one that will help them a gread deal more.
After all spending £150 on a good quality topper is a heck of a lot cheaper than £1600 on a Tempur mattress.
Also I don't know if this has been mentioned, but if they have a serious medical condition that would greatly benefit from a memory foam mattress/topper, then they can get VAT relief on it.0
