well done suzy-good to hear some bright news--what do you plan to do with your 'ill' gotten gains lol--treat yourself i hope.
i am assigned to my study tonight because mum and daughter have control of both lounges and consequently turkish tv reigns supreme--i am drinking raki--or ouzo as you may know it. Very strong but very relaxing!--its 11pm here and i am still awake--i usually fall asleep about 10,30pm after i have watched eastenders on bbc entertainment(its 2 weeks out of date by the time i see it--so xmas day for me will be about the 8th january!)--i work xmas day usually --it never falls on a sunday it seems when i get time off!--a group of expats from another site i go on are organising a get together near my home so we might have a bit of christmas cheer in a muslim world--they give presents and have decorations but its for new year and my students are shocked to hear me tell them xmas day is 25th dec!! they know Papa Noel but forunately they havent cottoned onto commercialisation of the season--kids expect little for new year and not much for birthdays--its just not their way!--where i live is definately upper middle class and there is no shortage of money but kids are not spoilt--i know i have a great well behaved daughter and teacher 170plus kids a week--when i go back to the uk i feel sad because in so many ways we have lost a trick and money has become a national obsession--if we had strived for less we wouldnt have got into this mess!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
Disco Jesus whew, wasn't sure if that had worked, Mr T has missed his disco as he took the huff because he felt silly. He has gone to bed in a sulk. Disco jesus is wearing his auntie's sandals and thinks they are cool. I give up.
I am off to bed with a painkiller, if I am not here tomorrow I am in Dublin. xxx

have you consulted nhs direct about flying with an ear infection--i was just thinking of how my ears 'pained me when i had an ear infection and how they would react to cabin pressure changes as you take off --land --Gregmfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Good evening chums ,not a bad day ,no shopping but I had to take three of my grandsons to the dentist. Jack (10) only went for a check up and bless him his had a baby tooth pulled as the dentist said it was totally dead.He is such a stoic little chap, not a murmur out of him and he came out with a big gauze wad in his mouth.
The other two, Mikey (6) and Henry (9) have to go to Rochester in January to have a tooth pulled each. The dentist won't do it as they have an abcess under their tooth. Both of them at the same time ,weird or what.
My DD is very particular about their teeth and they are not allowed many sweets, and as soon as they have had a meal they have to clean their teeth afterwards. But they are also good lads and never make a fuss about the dentist as they know they have to go.They go in on their own as well to see him., I have always taken them as they know Granny won't have any old nonsence out of them. One of my friends granddaughters is 13 and she kicks off big time about going even for a check up.
Eldest DD hopefully is boarding her plane home as I type she will land around 7.00.a.m. tomorrow morning but it will feel like the middle of the night for her i remember when I came home from the U.S. I was all over the place for a couple of days till my inner time clock fixed itself.
I am looking forward to seeing her though.
Right I'm off to bed now
good night God bless all here

Evening All
Escaped onto the PC, watched what little there was to watch tonight, DH is now watching Discovery, so he is happy:D
I had a gorgeous mooch, treated myself a little, and got the xmas/birthday pressie for DS's GF. First off BHS, found nothing, no longer doing sports/gym wear, then Evan's :j:jthey did have boots to fit:j:jhowever the heels were really too flat:o. I know what I want, and even though there was 20% off until tomorrow I resisted. However, they had the "fake" Pandora type bracelet in there with the beads, which came in 2 lengths, I had been unable to get another type on due to being too small for my wrist, "big boned" isn't in it, for £12, with 30% off, and beads were reduced to 3 for £2 so with 5 extra beads sill only £12.;) Also got 2 "mouse hammocks" as my DH calls them, with 20% off. Then off to £land, to get some halloweeny things to decorate the 'van with, even some battery powered lights of pumpkins and skulls, even they had been reduced to 4 for £3, No outfits though. On to Debenhams to get my free sample of Lancome - voucher on grabbit, and spend my £5 voucher, again via grabbit. Got 2 Lancome samples she gave me one for the face cream as well as the serum, and bought a Xmas pressie for DS, he claims the kitchen and loved Le Crueset, I got him a set of ceramic dishes in the orange last Xmas (at his request) and Aldi had some cast casseroles reduced in a matching orange so got him a couple of those as they wer 1/4 price earlier in the year, so saw a utensils jar to match, £15 -20% less the £5 = £7. Back to Boots where it was close to 3pm for the £12 worth of points for each £50 spent. Got one of the Deal of the Week Sanctury boxes for DS's GF, £19 rather than £40, and a new Phillips Sonic Electric Toothbrush half price, you getting a trend here:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Put these behind the counter to wait for 3pm, and to ensure I got the Sanctury DOTW none in stock on line, and stock going down fast (the photo counter folks in Donny are really helpful) Popped back into BHS to see if anything else, but no, then over to M&S but nothing tempted me. Back to Boots then as it was 3pm and also got one of their illuminated mirrors, half price, and some shampoo/conditioner 3 for 2, and a reduced After Shave Paul Smith, somethingorother. It smelt OK when I tried it on me:D
Staggered back towards the car, which passed Tesco, filled the trolley with my bags and just bought oddments I could not get in Aldi, and found YS steak, fresh tuna, Black Label sausages, and still managed to get on the 10 items only till. Took the trolley to the edge of their car park, I was parked just over the road. and staggered back to the car. Called at Matalan on the way home, but only managed a witches hat for me and a skull face mask for DH so we will just wear all black with them.
JackieG - sorry to hear about your ear infection, they are terribly painful, and really flying is not recommended, but know you were looking forward to the meet. Only suggestion for ease is a well wrapped hot water bottle on your pillow. Wear a hat also which covers your ears, I had to laugh at the photo earlier, My Mum swore by headscarves, and as I had middle ear trouble when a toddler also had to wear a hat or some form or other, still do if there is a cold wind to be honest, better than hurting.
ISN'T IT TIME WE HAD ANOTHER ONE IN YORKSHIRE OR NORTHERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY???
LW - hope you ae feeling brighter now.
Flutterbyuk - you are right to be evil, it is the only way some learn;)
Floss hope you have your heating back now.
Moiliere - We always take the car to Spain and take certain things with us, basics are cheaper there, but any particular brands with like, and baked beans are cheaper here. Will not be travelling again now until early next year, so shout out if you need a Tesco shop dropping off on the way down:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
adelight - I would not say ty for a veggie box, I know the stuff in Aldi/Lidl is fresh and it clears out in no time, if you go in at tea time there is nothing left, and I prefer to have the stuff I like rather than a lottery.
Well we have now reached today, rather than yesterday IYKWIM, so I wil say goodnight, hope you all sleep well, and (((hugs))) to all.
