Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28-10-10. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning my lovelies
Been awake since 5am
DD is poorly with an awful cold (and yep I've got it coming too
) and she woke early, jabbering about a bee in her bedroom. Still she could have been having a hissy fit about the mahoosive spider that was in the kitchen last night :eek: All on my own with no manly husband to deal with it! I managed to escort it outside with the help of my slipper and a dust pan and brush
Thing is I don't like spiders but I've made a decision to NEVER freak out about them in front of the kids and she's still ended up panicking about them?
Anyway I digress, off to a friends just after lunch. Will have 4 kids with me but we could do with a change of scenery. No much OS going on, am a complete fraud this week, not even had chance to do any housework
No idea what's for tea tonight, need to get a chicken out of the freezer to defrost and cook over next couple of days.
Topsyturvy - sorry to hear about your DS. I would definately get the authorities involved. Hope his bruising goes down soon xx
Floss - Can't wait to see some pics, hope Photobucket works soon. Glad the wedding all went to plan
As for your other problems hope BG finally get your boiler etc fixed.
Off to have a shower. Put coconut oil on my hair last night. Hope it washes out OK otherwise walking round like a blonde chip pan head is soooooo not going to be a good look for me
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

Morning all
Damp here again this morning, hubby's been dropped at the station with an extra big packup, as he may be late tonight.
DW's on, WM is about to go on, breakfast eaten & fish fed.
I'm off to have my ladybits scraped & squeezed this morning, so will spend the next 2 days on painkillers as my shoulder will give my problems after the mammogram.
DGD came over yesterday afternoon & we spent the time wheeling a pram & dolly round the garden. I need to clean out the fridge this morning & get the sausages out the freezer for tea tonight, no baking needed as I made some hazlenut pastries yesterday, no recipe I'm afraid as it was a packet mix from Lidl's.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Too dark to see what the weather will do, but it feels damp. Did a wash last night, which I have on the airer, should be almost dry by tonight.
Off to work again today, will ask dd to hoover through and tidy downstairs.
Dinner tonight will be a Lidl Pizza, (they are fab, really tasty), with chips and coleslaw, so no effort there. I also have a sainsbugs delivery coming tonight.
Topsy, how awful you must be , lets hope the community officer can sort it out, big hugs to your ds xx
Sistercas, have a great time xx
Hester, good luck with your 'bits'
Have good days all, back later no doubt xx0 -
Morning
Mmmmm hazelnut pastries - toast for us and off to step class. Crèche for younger 2 and mums for eldest. I have sore throat, runny nose and cough - paracetamol and tea for me!
Kids went to their dads sun and the dog chewed up dd and ds2 shoes so as we were collecting Lego from t r us we popped on sports direct and I got all 3 of them new trainers for 18.00- budget still intact (see frugal challenge)
More housework to do - hung heavy curtains in bathroom last night to keep house warmer but need something for front door and window.
Lunch Is spaghetti on toast and noodles and egg n chips for dinner - using up all I can to go shopping sun for a good nov - meal plans an sho lists written for entire month!DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debtsJust to see which month

Morning everyone - another dark and cold day in Manchester, though yesterday turned out very warm.
Doing a piece of work this morning and then going off back home, not looking forward to the M62 but I at least I don't have to struggle across it every day.
Had my Holiday Inn Express breakfast  and then the staff brought out a tray of warm pain au chocolate again. :j Took a couple back to my room and now reading the paper.
OS today will be eating out of the freezer as we're off on holiday on Friday until middle of November.
Christmas shopping not started - don't really do Christmas! Avoiding Halloween by being away on holiday, ditto Bonfire Night though a packet of sparklers may make it's way up north if my suspicions are correct. :j
Happy Thursday folks.
Oh, Chris Evans is just playing Cliff Richard's Bachelor Boy, takes me way way back. (off to do a quick boogie round hotel room).0 -
Morning All,
I am tired this morning, haven't slept much with my sore ear, I think a trip to the doctor's will definitely need to be arranged.
Good that you called the police Topsy hopefully that will nip it in the bud.
I am meant to be going out with my sister today sofa shopping, well window shopping - my quest for the perfect sofa is still on. I was checking the website of a shop I have never been to last night, and they are oding a £500 trade in thing just now, they had some lovely ones on their website but the flaming thing kept crashing so no idea of price. I will be taking lots of painkillers with me, and wearing my shawl wrapped around my head, I think.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs spoons and hi-fives all round.

Good morning all--ive been up a few hours--i wondered when the thread would start!!--i am 2 hours advanced on you slumbering people!!
İ have deceided to start tackling our family budget from 1st of November and joined the monthly shopping thread on this 'thread'--i have no idea how much we spend on food and goodies so it will be an interesting experiment.--we tend to just live with an approach of picking things up in random shops which are close and convienient--i am going to change this practice by doing a 'big' supermarket shop on sunday morning--i do very little on sundays and i am sure will save us money as long as i do it alone without Mrs De!!! --i want to keep a diary on micro soft eventually to keep a check on all our expenditure- so if anyone knows how i access a free financial program of theirs please -speak up!!
İ ache today--yesterday i went for a reassessment at my gym because my wife transfered my allegience to her trainer--they have colluded to 'give' me muscles by changing my program to advanced free weights from the easier machines.--my wife and her trainer thought i looked terrible when i reached my goal diet weight in the summer so we already have conflict --i am still dieting 'stealthily' and this new program being much heavier will naturally burn more callories!
İts a half day national holiday here with a full day off tomorrow--so its raining cats and dogs!!-as i lay in bed last night listening to the rain i wondered if the water would penetrate the ceiling because the roofers are hard at work renovating up there!!--i dont know if anyone has ever been to the Aegian coastal region in Turkey but when it rains it 'rains'--a lot of localised flooding--there are a lot of high mountains surrounding the city which affects things a lot!--i can just imagine the 'interior waterfall' if the roof springs a leak!!--i dont hear much tapping on the roof so i presume rain stopped play --no doubt they will work ther national holiday because trades people tend to work 365 days a year generally--you can get pretty much anything done on any day--when we had our new kitchen and bathrooms in august/sept the neighbours were complaining about the work going on all weekend until late at night!!--even in the end of the ramadam holy holiday--a bit like working xmas day!
Anyway time to take a bath to soak away my pain--i bring a suitcase of English products 'home' with me from our pilmigridge to the uk in summer--the radox is awaiting me!!-G xmfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
