Afternoon everyone.....(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Today is a better day, the leak has stopped and OH rang this morning to say that he is feeling better, his bowels are working and although some idiot threw the samples away he made sure this morning that todays offering was sent to the lab. The Dr told OH last night that they were considering moving him back into the general ward, he asked if it was possible to be transferred to our local hospital instead, so they are looking into it. Life would be so much easier, its only 6 miles away.........
I have done another load of washing and got it dried, I have also steam cleaned the sitting room and washed the nets, managed to get half the kitchen done before the steamer ran out of steam, I am waiting for the pressure to reduce so I can finish the kitchen off. The microwave is well clean inside, sparkling even. I plan to do the oven too.
Off out in a mo to the post, its DGD's birthday this weekend and I have a small parcel to post as well.
Slept not too bad last night, fell asleep reading, woke just after 7aqm and finally made it out of bed just after 9am.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Bitsy beans, how did you leave it on overnight without ruining the pillows? Hope your DS feels better soon, probably best the whole family gets the cold out of the way at once.
Made chunky winter veg soup for lunch, did some washing and am lazing about watching antiques roadshow now! I'm lusting for a veg box but can't afford one, so I might kick off the November GC with a DIY one; stick all my offer veg in a cardboard box and write "lidl veg box" on the front :rotfl:Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Then I went on the market for some fruit, and got two biggish gammon joints for £9 as well- one in the freezer, and one to cook for sandwiches,as per the cooked meat thread I was reading yesterday!

Hi de1amo,
Have you looked at OpenOffice, it's free, (shareware).
Just like a pared down version of MS Office, with word processor, spreedsheets etc.
Regards, Pud
My household accounts were created in Microsoft Excel, and I can update them using OpenOffice Calc with no trouble at all.
Other than that, I'm feeling really carppy today, so will just "smile and wave" (to quote the Madagascar Penguins), and go away and construct the lasagne for tonight's dins, rather than drag the thread down.:o *Turns round to kick BD up the bum yet again*If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi everyone. I've been helping with the plastering again today so not had much chance to get on here.
Csarina - glad DH is feeling better. I hope they can move him so that he is closer to home.
Donny-Gal - I know what you mean about mooching round on your own. I really can't always take that way they stand in shops with their arms folded waiting while all you want to do is take your time looking at what's on offer!
It's been very cold today because the sun decided to stay in and we've had a sort of damp-feeling fog hanging around. The past few days have been really nice, too, so it was a bit of a shock.
De1amo - things are expensive here in France, too. I always try and have a big spend-up when we visit the UK but there's only so much you can bring back, even in a car! It's only living here that has made me realise how much choice and value for money we have in the UK.
Hester - hope your 'bits' survived!
Well, I think I'm being called to help again.

An unevenful day--not much work and hours spent outside the homestead--it was about to lash it down at 5pm so i rushed home because i was on my motorbike--it never happened but i was given a light show on the way home.-i reckon the night will be stormy so i hope the roofers have shown good sense and diligence with their days work!
Tomorrow is a public holiday but thankfully my gym is open--the cleaner is due tomorrow and i hate watching her work--my wife refuses to let me help because its 'her' job--it takes about 12 to 15 hours to do everything to my wife's (and mother in laws) exacting standards.--i feel guilty by just being here!-heavens knows what i will do for all those hours--maybe go sit with my father-in law and waste the day!--i hope the weather forcast is right and the sun will shine-but you can never trust it!!
Mioliere--it does cut down the need to keep chasing cheap prices though--shop prices are pretty equal---tesco has bought a large chain of supermarkets here and things are beginning to get competitive within the sector--the worse offender is carrefore-the french chain who knows how to rip people off and give bad customer service!!here that it!!!--there are only about 2 big supermarkets serving a city of 5 million people and the rest of shopping is done in mid sized shops--long may local shops exist is what i say!!--turkish prices for many things like veg and general stuff seems reasonable but toiletries are ridiculously proportioned--mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
.......Brrr....gas man still not been. Wish they had said that 4-6pm really meant 5.55pm! I've given up 1.5 hours pay to sit in a cold house surfing the web
Will try & get some piccies on - any other suggestions for that other than photobucket?0 -
Evening all
I've been playing with firemen's hoses today:rotfl:. Took the work kids to the local station for a fun-filled day. Almost all enjoyed, 2 were right grumpy g!ts and refused to take part in activities - oddly the same 2 who wrote on their reviews yesterday that they need to improve their attitude!. ah well they will slowly learn, especially when I have docked their pay (they get £10/day training allowance) for the afternoon as they didn't do anything! Yes, I am evil
Popped to shops after work, stocked up on veg. Why doesn't Lidl have hand baskets?! So annoying. Also went to Morrisons, got a stew pack for 50p (normal price, not YS) which had 3 carrots, 2 onions, small swede and a parsnip. I don't like parsnip but will give my mum it, but thought it was a bargain. Will use carrots and swede on Sunday with veggie roast dinner. Although I really fancy a roast tonight. Will see if I have the energy!
OS wise - DW been on this morning and emptied. recycling sorted, tidied round and will make lunch for tomorrow.
Talking of tomorrow, I am skiving off for an hour so I can hopefully buy some take That tickets :j!
Have a good evening all

Right, I have an ear infection. doc said probably best not to fly but see how I feel in the morning, as I have to be up at 5am, I am thinking no trip for me
I will think on it over the course of the evening. I had another panic attack today and have been worried about taking one on the plane, or while I am there, so maybe its best not to go. So unsure of what to do.
Making a Mr T costume for DS2 for Cubs tonight, couldn't get any of those christmas beads anywhere to make necklaces so am improvising with some spray paint and blind cord!! DS1 is going as disco Jesus!!! Jesus with funky giant sunglasses - don't ask, I have no idea and am leaving him to it, if he offends then so be it, I'm sure Jesus would have taken it in the spirit it was intended. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
i think these shops make you use trolleys so you have more room to fill up!!--reason for no hand baskets--or maybe the students have stolen all the baskets!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
