I love it. Definitely (even) more stable than XP and Vista (the latter which I deliberately eschewed) ; cleaner interface; hibernation/standby mode work far better. I say -- go for it

Windows 7 is what Vista should have been. So long as you've got the power to run it (which most modern computers have), it's a pleasant move up from XP. It works with most modern software and hardware, but you may have problems if you try to connect some older equipment or load some older software. If you already have a machine running XP with all the stuff on it and connected to it that you want to use, try running the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor (just google it) for Windows 7. It will doubtless say your existing machine can't run Windows 7, but should go through the installed hardware and software, highlighting any which may have problems.

Windows 7, as long as you have a PC from the last few years and at least 2GBs of memory. Oh, and preferably the 64 bit version.

Thanks again i was just looking at some of the games
in the house like sims 3 etc and they say only run on
xp and vista, there is always the laptop but that is
just 1 thing I have noticed and seems to not work
    with 7.
A small thing but might aswell get something that
works for all, still keen on 7 though after what you
    all say
