Painting by Numbers - 2 junior, 2 adult - SEL and scanned £9.97, but cardboard box holding them both showed £7.97. Went with CS lady to where they were. She offered me the difference, but I politely pointed out the policy behind her.

    R & R £39.88, no fuss.

I picked up 3 leather business card cases from the Christmas 3 for 2 range - I actually wanted metal cases but there were none there, and the SEL said £2.97 each, so I thought they'd be good enough at £2 each (gifts to put in fill-your-own christmas crackers from january sales). I obviously didn't have my R&R head on, because when they popped up on the till as £4.97 each I said - Oh, they're not that price on the shelf (and promptly slapped my hand over my big mouth) but managed to persuade the girl that I'd made a mistake. I told the lovely CS girl that I thought I'd been overcharged and she had a quick check at the shelf (£4.97 was printed on the box, £2.97 on the SEL) and did an R&R without question. However, she also removed the SEL while I was there, so don't try this in Swansea's Fforestfach Tesco.

I don't know if Tesco have sorted this one out, but I was charged £2.97 for this today - even though there was about 3 sels clearly saying £4.97 !!

The black motorola SLVR is priced up at £74.97, some stores have it on white SEL, other have it on a "yellow reduced to clear SEL"

There is a current promotion offering £20 of all Tesco PAYG phones if you spend £40 in store, this phone will not prompt the checkout operator to trigger the £20 discount, you now have an overcharged phone and an r&r !

    However

Strictly speaking the phone is not in the promotion which is why the discount doesn't come off, but if you come accross a store that has it on a white sel then you're laughing, as there is nothing to indicate that it doesn't fall in "the reduced to clear restriction" clear r&r

You come accross a store with a yellow SEL

Ive had 3 from stores with these SELS, most CS and managers read the very large signs (no indications of any restrictions)

    6 phones- no problem

Not sure about this one ?

I got a Motorola Pebl on r&r (white sel) chanced it- and hey presto discount wasn't triggered but I don't know why not - result ---r&r

    go and clear the shelfs
