I understand if the price per Kilo is less you get more meat for your £2.88, but if that is the price of the pack when you pick it up, and that is the price you pay, what can I say to CS.
You can tell CS that you thought that the discount would come off at the till and you would be charged the lower SEL price or that you noticed the price difference in KG when you were packing0 -
You have given me the confidence to have a go in the morning.
I don`t want to attract attention to myself, so just a few packs.
Many thanks to you all.0 -

But the meat still confuses me,
if the price on the pack is the price you pay how are you overcharged? If the piece of steak is £2.88 and it scans at £2.88, I can`t get the refund?
When you pick up the pack you know the price.
Steak SEL £11.00 Per kg Pack £2.88
Pack £12.00 Per kg Pack £2.88
Receipt Steak £2.88.
What exactly can I say to CS, I need some free meat!!!
The meat products which are weighed and priced in £/kg will scan at the same price as the label. (These are the ones where every pack is a different price according to weight.) Look out for differences in £/kg between the pack price and SEL. This happens when there is a promotion and you see yellow SELs and barkers up. The new priced stock will often be stickered with the promotion price so look out for any which are not and check the £/kg - if more than the SEL then it is an overcharge. I have bought these before, taken them to CS and said "the discount didn't come off at the till".
However the fish and some meat products (eg chicken pieces) are packed in standard weight packs at a fixed price and these ones are sometimes priced differently to the SELs. In the event of a difference, if you are not charged the lower of the two prices then it is an R&R (usually the SEL is the right price).

Great to see more & more people getting the R&R habit. :beer:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

I have just had experience of something I posted about yesterday.
Had an R&R two weeks ago, not on an out-of-date sel - just a normal white sel but charged nearly 10% extra.
I went in the store last week sel was now showing correct higher price.
I went in today and white sel back in place showing same price as it did 2 weeks ago - and went thru the till at exactly the same HIGHER price that it did then - got another R&R.
No dates, no special offers, no yellow sel. Just Tesco putting a price on display they have no intention of honouring - unless you spot it
Whatever the arguement about extra profit or turnover etc, the bottom line is they are advertising a price, but charging you more.
In a way WE, the consumer are as much to blame, we have fallen for the 'convenience' and 'quickness' trap of ALL supermarkets.
We are in such a rush to get the mundane boring job of filling our cupboards done asap. We do not get our meat from the butcher, books from Smiths, veg from the local market, cds from Virgin. If we did shop this way, we would probably be able to keep an eye on what we were being charged, rather than mistakes being hidden by the sheer volume in the trolley. We like the convenience of being able to do everything at once - buy stamps, shop for christmas, get a new outfit - the lot.
Even being a keen R&Rer, I VERY RARELY write down prices of what I buy. I probably miss as many overcharges as R&Rs I claim - because my mind is on other things. I want to get my shopping done and me onto the next thing in my hectic life.
My new resolve is to write a list of the prices and check it against my receipt - for ALL items and in ALL stores. I used to think this was only the veteran shoppers who did this, those who had nothing better to do with their time than write all the items and prices. Now I think they are just the very wise ones :T
Now, has anybody seen any notepads and pens I can get on R&R0 -
