    Hi,
Fosters was a winner for me today, picked up 8x4 packs, went to CS, they tried to offer me the difference of 30p per 2x4 packs. They claimed they knew nothing about R&R. I then had to show them a poster up instore. Finally they called a DM & she authorised it. But they said that Tesco offers a Bulk Buy policy on R&R's of only 6 items. So I got full refund on 6 packs not the 8. As this was my first go at it, I took it as correct. But now I'm thinking that maybe I was conned on the last 2 packs or are they infact correct, even though its not advertised anywhere?

Anyone with similar issues at their Tesco?

I got collared with the "bulk buy" line grabbing some burgers the other evening and had to just take the R&R on the 6 packs, but then i got 10 packs of willow farm mini fillets the other day, i guess it depends on who you get served by... thing is if this was/is company policy it should flag up when you are actually purchasing the products, i've been know to buy 30 bottles of water before and they didnt seem to mind that.

You should have had a refund on all packs. If they allowed you to buy the items, they cannot retrospectively apply a bulk buy policy if they overcharge you and you seek redress under their policy.

Just got back from my 2nd R+R adventure!, 2 in 2 days!

Went hunting and looked for the merlot evolution bottles of red, scanned at SEL.

Then found the Becks Vier 12 packs, grabbed the last 4, SEL said 6.99 scanned at 7XX.

Then found the finest aberdeen angus burgers, SEL said 1.49, each pack said 1.59, got 6 packs.

Thought as it was nice day I would get some burger rolls so it would look I was having a BBQ, what with the beer.

Went to CS, explained and lovely lady went off to check, came back and agreed about beer but said there was no offer on the burgers, so I explained it was the normal SEL, she checked, and then put it all through for refund.

She said, " you have a cheap shop there " yes I said, makes the BBQ taste all the better! £39 R+R :T

I was totally unaware of this policy until recently - last week in fact! :embarasse
I picked up a small stocking filler for my smallest son (disney toy - marked as 49p from 98p) it scanned at 98p - I was watching as it went through and was going to ignore it - but decided it was meant to be HALF that price, so went to CS who gave me r&r :T

I have discovered these threads and now can't wait to go again!! ;)

But - ok if it is a big price difference - like HALF price, but I think I would feel funny about 1 or 2p difference?? Although I'm sure I would get over it when I had a free Xbox or something!!! :D

Hey Brindles - let's be cool - remember that I've always said 'Each to their own' - I was simply commenting and trying to offer some perspective.

The point I was trying to make - and I acknowledge that not everyone agrees - is that greed does not = a low profile and greed does not = being in the R&R game for the long run.

    Hey Dude,

I for one really appreciate your input and respect the fact that you have been doing this far longer than many on here, including myself.

So far I have stayed fairly local and spread over mainly 6 stores. How often do you think is reasonable to go to each store? Would you leave it longer if you went for something big?

So far I have really only considered which CS staff are on, but haven't checked out the security staff. Do you think they take an interest in all R&Rs or just the biggies? (Haven't dared go for anything big yet!).

I'd rather be in this long term and would really appreciate your advice.

    Many thanks! :o

Stockport has the games label and one Operation still there, might be worth checking to see if they get any new stock

Hey - thanks for the kind words.

Personally I tend to hit my local stores on a loose rota basis - nothing scientific, more of a case 'I haven't been there for a couple of weeks'.

I always scope the CS desk - and avoid CS staff who have identified me as a regular R&Rer and voiced their disapproval - but I'm only talking a handful of CS staff here.

I try and visit stores at different times of the day - after 1930 on a Friday or Saturday is often student CS part-time staff night - these Dudes are usually cool to deal with.

Big items - I would travel some distance if I really wanted something - failing that, hit a local store and then stay low for a while.

I think CS staff - mainly - take more of an interest in big R&Rs as they need management to authorise such and to cover their own backs - smaller items (less than £30) are generally no problem.

That said there are a few CS staff who regard stock as being their own property and will R&R with a scowl, not a smile!

I've only had security bother me once - and that was quite some time ago - with hindsight I was hitting that store every few days and using a clubcard......probably not too clever.

Whatever the R&R, be calm, polite and reasonable - 9 times out of 10 CS staff will treat you the same way.

Keep us posted with any finds - and any more specific questions after you've started hunting and there are lots of Dudes here who can help you.
