Just to clarify, the inclusive calls to all 08 numbers is a bolt-on which costs £2.50 per month.
Edit: this seems to be quite a new option, so hard to get clear info
Nearly a year later and it is still hard to get clear info about Vodafone 0800 inclusive tariffs!
I've signed up to this option for free inclusive 0800/0870/0845 calls on my Vodafone price plan but I am still being billed for them.
The Vodafone website is unclear and customer services are insisting that the calls are chargeable despite my contract stating that 08 numbers are now included in my minutes.
I've posted on the Vodafone forum and hopefully someone there may be able to help.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Hi jimjames,
I am sorry to hear there has been some confusion regarding this.
We actually do two separate packages that include 0800, 0870 and 0845 numbers. The first one is £2.50 a month and will deduct these numbers from your inclusive minutes and the second is £5 a month and instead of deducting them, you have a fair usage policy of 3000 minutes to use.
If you need any further help, feel free to get in touch with me directly via the email address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject. Please also include a link to this thread.
Many thanks,
Heidi

0844 numbers are chargable with this service. I was stung making a number of those calls thinking they were included. They are not. Only 0800, 0845 and 0870 numbers are included.0

Sorry to be pedantic, but 0500 and 0808 are also included.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Sorry to drop in here, but I'd like to clarify this once and for all after going round the houses this week trying to find a definitive answer. I finally found out the correct info, and I double and triple checked the info I was given and this is it:
Regardless of what you hear or read elsewhere, only 0800, 0845, and 0870 numbers are included in any of the Vodafone 08* bolt ons and even when the 08* numbers are included with a specific plan, or SIM only deal. All other numbers, such as 0500, 0808, etc are charged at the out of plan rate, which is usually 35p per minute with VF (well it is on my SIM only plan).
Although nothing to do with 08* numbers, JFYI, short code costs are all chargeable. So all text messages to short codes are chargeable and not deducted from your inclusive text allowances, even short codes that are charged at the standard operators rate, like those standard rate short codes on the electoral registration forms that allow you to register by text. Pretty rubbish really. I registered online instead.
So, as many organisations are switching from 0800 to 0500 and 0808 numbers, the limited 08* package will soon become of limited value to many people, and especially at the price (if you're paying extra) currently being charged. If you only occasionally dial the 08* numbers it's not worth it really. For most people I know the 0845 numbers are the numbers that are the most frequently dialled, and there aren't always geo alternatives.
So my advice is if you use your mobile primarily and think you're going to spend more than 15 minutes on the phone to an 0845 number then of course it will pay for itself pretty easily. IME that is very, very easily done. If you've got a BT landline because you have to (for BB) then the Anytime plan will cover you so wait till you're at home...although the landline is not good value for money, so if you're fortunate enough to be able to ditch it (fibred area) I'd get shot of it.
Mobile and VoIP all the way! Hurrah!0 -

Sorry, but you are wrong. 0500 and 0808 ARE included in your minutes if you have the bundle, and I can provide proof of this should I wish to provide this, as I have used 0808 quite a fair bit.
I agree with 0871/0844 etc, but 0808 and 0500 are definately compatible.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
In fact, here is the latest bits from my e-bill...
Shows: Date and time, Number called, Duration, Normal Cost, Actual Cost and included in bundle.......I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Well that's certainly proof. Which makes me not trust a flamin' word any of the Vodafone personnel say ever again. I was told with absolute certainty that those numbers were not included. After getting the run around all week I double checked, and then triple checked and was assured that only 0800, 0845, and 0870 numbers were included. Seems that they make it up as they go along...or they are different plans altogether and no one knows which one is which.
No doubt the only real way to find out exactly what I will and won't be charged for is to make a few calls to 0808 and 0500 numbers and find out whether Vodafone charge me 35p a minute or not.0 -
You won't get charged trust me. It's only because 0500 and 0808 are not used as much these days....I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Is this package still available? Could you send me a link? My friend has a lot of calls to 0845 and requires a monthly package with inclusive minutes to Tmobile. He won't change providers!
Could someone send me a link to that Vodaphone equivalent again just in case?0
