In fact nothing and everything qualifies, as the gov - so far - doesn't require proof that someone used their WFA to pay their fuel bill.

It's normally about the middle of the month, 3rd or maybe even 4th week.

Tell me truthfully - is there anyone out there who is really desperately waiting for it???? And will put it towards what it was intended for, and that wasn't Christmas presents for grandchildren! A new winter coat definitely does qualify. We've just had 2 double-glazed window frames replaced that had 'blown', so that comes under the heading of 'insulation' and it does qualify. As I took the money out of savings to pay for them, the WFA can go back to savings.

im waiting for it to pay for the mot and car tax is that ok with you?

It makes a difference to me knowing that the winter fuel payment is coming because it means that I use the heating oftener without thinking too much about the winter cost.

Could somebody post in here as soon as they hear when we're getting it this year ? Ta !

payments have only been started to be released at the week end so it will be at least 7-10 days before payments start going in, it also depends on which benefit is paying as they don't pay at same time for obvious reasons, all should be done by christmas eve

My husband just turned 60 last week. Am I right in assuming he won't get the allowance this year?
