Don't worry. The information given by 'nanny' was wrong. It's not done alphabetically. It's done primarily by NI number and length of time you have been receiving the WFA.

the payments arent issued in alphabetical order.0

Headcovers - you're actually not 100% correct - I got my first winter fuel payment two years ago, after starting my pension. But then I decided to defer receiving it but was told I would still get the winter fuel payment.
But what they didn't tell me was that it wouldn't be automatic. So when it didn't arrive I enquired where it was and was told I had to re-apply! and then of course it took months to get (finally in March) because the DWP and the Pensions payment people kept to-ing and fro-ing it between them.
This year, I've e-mailed the DWP and be told that I 'should' receive it automatically but somehow I won't be surprised if I don't.0 -

OK can we accept the WFA is being paid. There is no need for everyone to post telling us they have received theirs or our mailboxes will be filling up with unnecessary info and detract from an otherwise useful thread.

Do you mean you only have one bank account between you?

We only have one joint current account that we use for salary payments and other income. I do not work or have a pension (being only 57) so OH gets the £200. We do have several separate savings accounts, OH has his ISA and I have all the rest in my name.0

It's only paid to the second person to turn 60 if they actually apply. I thought there didn't seem much point really, so I never bothered applying. As long as the £200 drops into a bank account with my name on somewhere, I'm happy to leave things as they are.0 -
Can yuo get this allowance if you are over 60 and still working?0
