Orange San Francisco - Google Android For Dirt Cheap

Good phone but note battery life is poor - most reviews say needs charging every 1-2 days!

This is normal and expected for all Smart phones, with all the email checking and updating they do all day.
Even more expensive iPhones don't last much longer.0 -
Great price, but I'd be worried about the data cap.with £10 top up on pay as you go, you get 300 free texts, access to the popular Orange Wednesdays offer and 'free Internet'. That's rather misleading as Orange caps this at 100MB a month, which if you're going to use Android's full Web browsing capability this could vanish in a few days. So beware of this!

one perk in android i use often to stop my phone using mobile internet when i dont want it to is you can stick a small button on the home screen to turn it off and it won't connect without you pressing the button again. Also turning it off along side everything else you don't use considerably extends your battery life, with everything on i can just about get through a day but if i turn it all off it can last up to 3 days (recharge after 2 though to make sure i dont run out)0 -
for anyone interested in another budget android phone that isn't only on orange this is also a new handset brought out recently
http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/choose-tariff/ALCATEL-OT-980/PPAY/NEW
Can't say i've used it and it only stocks the older android 1.6 but at £100 it's a steal for what 6 months ago could only be had for over £3000 -
That's the thing with the San Francisco though, it has a capacitive touch screen and Android 2.1. Like I said originally, the spec is great for what you pay for. I read around the internet a lot before actually buying it, but if you're interested, I think Prepay Wizard has an easy to understand no frills description http://www.prepaywizard.co.uk/orange-san-francisco-payg-phoneTHE BIGGEST_MINT0

It pales in comparison to the vastly better and similarly priced SF though.0 -

it does, I was impressed with the specs for the cost when i saw it but now i've seen the SF it is nowhere near as good as you can get. Just providing an alternative option for anyone who lives in an area where orange are useless or for those who still like to have real buttons in some way, the SF is far better though0 -
For a complete review with videos etc check out this site

I also unlocked mine for about £2.50 at http://www.nckcodes.co.uk/
It is soooo easy!!!!
Reevoo give the phone 8.9, only bad points are recording video and battery life.
Also DON'T FORGET CASHBACK http://www.cashbackkings.com/?ruid=3017960-keep you get £12 on all mid-priced payg phones from Orange.0 -

I'm thinking of ordering one for my wife, mum and in-laws. Maybe I should buy shares in ZTE (the makers of the SF)0
