Sun_Addict said:I think I would be tempted to bite the bullet and have the whole re-wire done and get it over with. The price sounds very reasonable. Worth seeing if you could patch up your bedroom wallpaper. We had a new boiler, central heating system, bathroom, kitchen and some re-wiring done all at the same time 4 years ago while still living in the house. A bit challenging at times but worth it in the end. I wish I’d pushed for a full re-wire at the time because some rooms still need doing.NEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.054

morning
Made a few sales on FB last night of the stuff that abbie no longer wants, we both made £10 each and its in our house savings funds. I have another lady coming to collect a bundle of clothes for £15 so again that will get split and put into our house fund accounts every penny counts, I still have 2 more bundles to sell as well as well as a couple of separate bits. Someone is meant to be coming round to buy her tracksuit tops and hoodies so hopefully we shall have more money in our pots.
Kids are sitting down having snacks so I've sorted out the banking quite chuffed where the home improvement fund it sitting at already.
One of my parents have gave notice to change their shifts .........again, told her this is the last time as the council have phoned yesterday querying if I had any spaces on a Tuesday and Thursday, this is the days this other parents has given up. Again I don't rely on this parents money it just gets chucked towards the savings so it wont affect me too much.
I need to drop a bag of clothes to the clothes bank after I've been to the nursery then I need to pop to Lidl for dishwashing tablets and then Iceland for their potatoes so a LSD today.
Right off to get the arts an crafts out xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.055 -
Our house needs rewiring and we are probably going to have to do it room by room. If we could find a way to get it all done at once, I'd jump at the chance. You'd get all the mess and disruption over with in one go, and it's probably much more economical."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". morning
Home improvement fund is still going up. Sold a hedge trimmer that my FIL gave us even tho we have no hedges was brand new in the box so got £25 for it which went straight to the savings pot. I'm dropping off a bundle of clothes tonight will be getting £15 so this will be split between mine and Abbie's house savings.
I think I'm going to go for the full house rewire, makes sense and like Jwil says itl'l get it out the way in a couple of days rather than having to dread the upheaval everytime I need to get a room done. So I think this is what I'm saving for with the home improvement fund so I'm £467.62 / £3400 so far so not so bad for a weeks work. Will just need to find more things to sell now, already dug out a lipsy bag that I've never used so will get that up on fb later
Did my crosstrainer this morning, was 21 minutes into my workout and the blooming thing snapped again so thats it I'm taking it to the tip as hubby says it can't be welded again so I'm on the hunt for a crosstrainer here's hoping I can find one cheap as I was quite liking my morning exercise, I do have a treadmill but it's in hubby's garage and I can't get to it for all the crap in there at the moment, have also contacted someone regarding a exercise bike so we shall see.
Good new.............I get to go and pick up my gran tonight after I've finished work woo hoo she's been discharged with a full care package so she will be getting carers in four times a day, we've tidied up the house and sorted out her spare room as stuff was just getting dumped in there when Abbie moved her stuff in so that's all organised and they will be going for a food shop today to get stuff in for themselves as we went out last night and bought my gran the food that she likes. I'm feeling very excited as I haven't seen her since Xmas day, I'm also feeling very anxious as I don't know how she will react to be being back home, I hope she settles in quickly and ok but I'm just so excited to go and get her tonight.NEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.054 -
Fantastic news about your gran, I’m sure she’ll soon settle back in. I think you’ve made the right decision about the re-wiring, get it done with. No doubt you’ll soon have enough in that pot the way you go.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Hope the carers are lovely, quite often there is one that is worth their weight in gold. So pleased and hope all goes well.
I second the full rewire as gets it out the way once and for all.
Brilliant amount already in the second pot - well done you.

Thanks everyone I picked her up from the hospital she was a wee bit scared but once I got her home she relaxed and settled quite well so I'm please but I have been ordered to get her chocolate digestives as Abbie has eaten them all lol so I'll pick them up when I go to homebargains lol after I've done the nursery run.
Finally sold a bundle of clothes and split the money between the pots, another pile of something out my house lol also transferred the housekeeping and payment from one of my parents straight to the home improvement fund I have £837.72 in there woo hoo will be in the first thousand bracket next week
Sold another top but they are paying me tomorrow, hopefully then I'll get it posted as I need to nip up to the hospital to collect my grans phone as they forgot to give it to me yesterday and they've also lost my suitcase that I dropped into her on xmas day, they better find it as it's hubby's lol oops
