Had to pop back !
Updated sig - was only going to pay £20 today from train fare savings but the extra £50 has taken me over the next 1% barrier (only update it when i'm at the % rather than doing decimals) So pleasedObviously i had to spoil it by asking myself where the next 1% was going to come from - answers on a postcard
Next months debt money is already earmarked for spends and probably car tax
so its going to be a tough one!

Ooh, the same could be said for the people I live with. Getting literary about it, we could talk about the best laid plans of mice and (wo)men!

Sadly not. Paying huge amounts off, but not getting anywhere"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
helloo
for some reason only just realised you have your own diary and I am sure I posted in the early days - I am RUBBISH at diaryland.
But you have done so well - you have just about reached your challenge target - will you be debt free then? x0 -

But you will be reducing the term of the debt so there will be an end date in sight xx I know its hard hon - as you know i've been there too where it feels like i'm struggling to tread water never mind make any headway, it will all come right for you ccCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Teehee not to worry LAM - there are only so many diaries we can all keep up with and only so many hours in the day. Nice to have you stopping by anyways
My debt figure is now the current target in my sig £1110 currently. The POAMYC challenge was set at a higher amount than my debt as i wanted to both clear the debt and make inroads on the mortgage - so the 92% is where i'm at on clearing the debt - i just wanted to see that as a percentage and motivator so i knew where i was up to. So yes once £1110 is paid i will be debt free  aside from the mortgage of course. I will be sticking with jwils challenge if its run next year too as i want to pay this mortgage down - especially as my take home pay is half what it was before i was made redundantSo my mortgage payments are a huge amount of my wages
Even though i have the debt i have been paying extra to the mortgage so at least should see the balance come down a bit this year - it is repayment its just that you don't see much difference in the early days do you ?So if i pay £3000 off the mortgage as an extra payment this year at least what i owe, and am paying interest on. will drop by that amount too
I've seen that you're soing brilliantly too hon - :T:T:T and i think you've upped your target ? How much is there left to go for you hon ?CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
:Tooo well done you. :T
Sadly I have a few years left as my LBM was only Jan last year and I had about £25k debt including credit cards
I currently have about £14k - at the beg of this year I decided to make it a 3 year challenge on the loan as it should have been 5 years. I am on a 14.9% interest rate and this week will be refinancing the loan over 3 years with a 7.5% interest rate. Hopefully I can then overpay still and knock it down even more.
Even though its a lot of money that I owe I do feel in control of it now and am managing to overpay and still have a bit of a life now that all the credit cards are gone. I also have a small savings fund for emergencies.
Once the loan is gone I too will overpay on my mortgage.0 -
Well Done to you too LAM
I think thats the difference isn't it? Knowing where we're at with our finances and feeling in control. Do you pay the bills on your own or is it you and your Mr who pay them together?
I have no savings now at all as i paid it all to the debt. I will keep my overdraft as my emergency fund as it will probably be a while before i can build up any savings - OH has gone holiday booking mad  and whilst the moneys there for the hols the spending money isn't so that will cost me. Mind you in some ways i am not too bothered - i have missed out on so many things due to the debt its time for a bit of fun. I do love travelling too so can't complain
I had wanted to pay a bit more to the debt yesterday / today - so far i have chased my MS money - probably won't get it until next month and if i've no reply by next week i'll chase it again. I also wanted to cut down my fritter money but with birthdays on the horizon i need to wait until they've passed to reassess. I've also got to buy something for lunch today - there just isn't enough left for a decent meal here (plenty of food just nowt healthily pack lunchable) and i'm trying to eat healthily so i can build up my energy levels - i am just so exhausted again
Hope everyone has a good day xxCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
