Hey everyone
Well i am exhausted again- in fact i was exhausted yesterday but had lots to do so i am even more exhausted today
and i still have stuff to get on with both today and tomorrow - it is going to be hard going *gulp*
So i have kept up with my PADs. I'm also a little concerned about reaching the target of being debt free by my birthdayIt is such an important goal for me to achieve and i know its really only me putting the pressure on myself to achieve this but i am desperate for it to happen!!! I am not on target as it were for this month and when i go away that'll take money-making time out of that month too Hmmm!
I am really feeling the pinch of losing the income from my part-time job - although i am exhausted today i can physically feel the difference not running about doing 2 jobs has made and mentally too i am not feeling under pressure from it as well. But i did it for the money and that is what i am missing now.
I think i'll feel better if i jot down the income from all possible sources for the next few months and then see what the shortfall is and how i can possibly address that.
I *do* need to chase my other savings up next week as well - this money is going straight to my mortgage - after getting my sticky mitts on my savings the other month and being relieved but gutted that the money wasn't being used for what it was intended i am really not willing to compromise on the next lot of money. It is a much smaller amount of money too and again would not be enough to make me debt free but would obviously help with any shortfall. Mind you i say all this now and could end up getting the savings and thinking 'well i'm using this to get debt free and once i'm debt free i can overpay the mortgage' This would also stop me being in a panic about 0% deals running out and would save me £120 interest which i am currently paying  So i'd best get my pad and pens out and plot out the next few months money. After this i'll be a position where i can make a decision that i am comfortable with x
Of course any suggestions are welcome xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
You've done so well DDFW, and even if you don't quite make it by your birthday, you won't be far behind.
Try and think of your holiday as a chance to recharge your batteries and get your energy back again. You'll be able to debtbust thoroughly again when you come back
With regards to your savings - put them towards the mortgage if that's what you want to do - it all counts.
However, another way of looking at it, if you pay that towards your debt, that £120 interest saved could be an extra £120 payment towards your mortgage ultimately.
They always say go to the highest interest first, but sometimes you've got to go with the one that makes you feel best - so whether that is the mortgage or the debt, neither is a bad idea in the long run."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". jwil - you always say the right thingOf course what i *need* to do is pay the money off the mortgage - the interest is phenomenal  and if i'm in debt a bit longer because of it well so be it - on a SOA i have assets far outweighing debt so in reality not such a dreadful position to be in - just to look at it from another perspective you see

Hello people
i am, whilst not full of energy, certainly alot brighter than i was yesterday - although spending whole days doing nothing because i don't have the energy is not good it certainly gives me days where i can actually do things. A good thing considering i have so much to achieve today  Moving stuff, cleaning everything, lining stuff - it all needs to be done. Predictably my Mr has done the chivalrous thing - and made himself scarce for the day  Pah! Well in truth if he was here he would just be under my feet whilst being no help whatsoever
Tis true however - evidenced by the fact that he did nothing to assist before going out Tsk! But the man does make me laugh so i should maybe think - well he does nothing at home but makes me laugh - if he did things at home but didn't make me laugh would that be enough ? And of course i must remember that i indeed am not perfect
So i started the day fairly positively getting on with things, then ended up in tears, then have picked myself up (also with the help of a message from a friend).
I am having a much needed coffee break and then will get on with something for 15 minutes and then reward myself by coming back on here
I am going to search out some more items to sell - though i may not have the time today.
Remember the clothes i bought which i was umming and ahhing about ? Well i am definitely keeping the 2 holiday dresses - hide a multitude of sins - as dresses they are a whole outfit by themselvesand for £10 each reduced from *i think* £55 and £28 a fair price for quality items
Now the going out dress i bought - again £10 *instead of £49* - i am keeping it - it seems i am going out the month after next and i am going to wear this dressIt is a bit of a 'target' dress too - basically it is my size and fits but would look so much better if i lost a bit of weight - in fact if i lost 3 stone it would look amazing but that won't happen in 8weeks
But even with losing 1lb - 2lb a week it would make a massive difference
And this dress is going to be hung on the back of my bedroom door as a reminder of what i need to achieve
In all honesty if the weight was not off by then i could easily make my money back on this item so i am not going to worry too much
None of which is very moneysaving of course which is why i will follow the wonderful advice from jwil and as i am keeping these items i need to get rid of at least the same amount  - but unlikely to happen today as i turn the entire house upside down
So onto the money front then: - i need to make alot of extra income in the coming weeks and months to achieve debt freedom by my birthday. Whilst i accept i may well not hit this target - especially as my savings are going towards reducing the mortgage balance which is my highest interest item currently - i am darn well gonna try!
So i shall be back later - hopefully with more of a plan and certainly having done more leaving me less to rush round and do
Hope it is a good sunday for allCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Bar the booting this morning, I've just decluttered a book this afternoon

Your dresses sound fab and very bargainous too :j"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

It is going to be a very tough week :eek:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hi ddfw
Just a quick note to say hi and let you know that I am thinking about you. You have had a rough few days. My advice would be to sit down and work out what is the best route to go i.e.which to pay first. Jwil has given you some very good advice.
Just remember we are all here for you."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Hi ebayqueen - i was going to PM you actually and check that you are ok as i have not seen you about much lately - so as i say i hope you and your family are all well x I don't think i can make any definite decisions until i've got the funds but i think i'll aim to pay it off the mortgage as it is high interest compared to other debts and i do need to pay the balance down as much as possible xOoh, enjoy your film and wine, you deserve it
Bit of a weepy film actually - not a good idea to watch something sad when i've already been in tears todayBut still yes a good film
3 moveable items left i think and then i'm gonna need help with the rest as i am just not strong enough!
I've also got more pots to wash and move and also more rubbish to put out which i will get round to in a mo.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
