Forgot to mention have just requested £8 from book sales so will pay this off target 1 as soon as it is received.
Also will be cancelling my credit card which will mean I have no open credit cards available to useSadly, I will still have the balance but I have received a letter about increase in interest rates and want to avoid this. I do like to have a credit card for emergencies and the additional security on certain purchases. This will be the first time I will be without one since I first took one out when i was about 20 Eep!

Morning Everyone!
Today will see some progress made on my challenge but not on the garden. OH has taken charge of this for the moment so i should only need to spend a day on it towards the end of the month when he has finished what he is doing
I'm about to prepare tea now and then get on with some knitting and organising of degree work. Also going to use a facial scrub a bit later. But i will definitely be needing more coffee first :coffee:

Wow, you've made a great start to the year DDFW, I like following your diary as you motivate me to get of my !!!! and do something :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Hi jwil  shucks! Thanks for your lovely comments. But you do achieve loads and I've popped over and posted my 1st (hopefully 1st of many
) updates on your challenge.
Money News of the Day
I have 4 MS's lined up currently and hope to add to this. 1 is tomorrow so it will be an early start.
Not an NSD as I have purchased a gift for OH's birthday - ages away but you have to plan for these things- but I remembered cash back  AND the gift was already below half price before Xmas and has been reduced by almost 1/2 again :j
Cancelled said credit card and paid monthly payment + a wee bit extra.
So showered and used a couple of treatments - lets hope they work :rotfl::rotfl:
Now sorting through degree stuff :cool:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Pots have been duly washed and with Degree it's basically alot of reading at the mo
Just re-listing some things on e-bay - really need a free listing day for the other things :cool:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Well Tea was delicious and very filling which is great
Have decided to make a slight amendment to my plans re. batch cooking. Freezer is absolutely packed and even though I am lifting things out and cooking them there does not seem to be any extra space in there for fresh items :rotfl::rotfl:
So, very MSE of me  I am going to be doing a sort of storecupboard challenge - aim is to try and keep shopping down to £10 - £15 a week for at least January and hope to stretch this as far as possible into Feb - heck! I'll stretch this as far as possible into the New YearThe re-maining food budget can then be transferred off the debt straightaway :j Only thing is if I see anything on offer such as shower gel at less than half price I will be buying this in bulk  I did this at the start of last year and it really helped me out and saved me a fair amount too

Bleurgh! Snow stops moneymaking
Well postponed it anywho's. Never mind
I was very tired when I got up, went to bed at a reasonable hour but was feeling quite poorly so actually only stayed in bed from about midnight  Then couldn't sleep. Think it's all worrying about going into work today
Still, I have a plan in place, I am studying towards the career I want and am going to start work on my CV on Friday :T So all positives there.
Transferred some funds over to my 1st Target which is getting all the over payments. Would like to transfer more over but waiting to be sure all payments made on my card have actually come out of the bank. 1 payment from over a week ago has still not been taken!
Right best do some pots to keep the place looking good
Hope it is a good Tuesday for all!CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Pots all washed and I am more or less ready to go to work
It was my MS and p/t work that I missed out on today
- hopefully will get to make these up later in the week.
I need to think up some ways of making extra cash - I guess the things i have organised for e-bay that I want a bit more for I can list at a lower price and just hope for the best  - If these sell for over the total for the new ladders this will give me extra funds to pay off a bill
Really want all monies that are due out of the account to be taken and then I can hopefully get the first target below £2000 - its just so close to it Eep! :rotfl:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
So I have made a small plan: -
1, [STRIKE]List 2 new text books on greenmet (already have copies)[/STRIKE] Done!
2, Re-list items on e-bay that are higher than 99p start price at the weekend, reducing higher value clothes items + try and add more
3, Once have funds off OH transfer JUST £50 of this to bills - just so I don't leave myself short for end of month bills
4, Every time I work a p/t shift transfer the funds across to a bill as when my wages come in this will even everything out
5, Go food shopping this week (and every week) to just 1 supermarket and transfer the surplus budget to bills
6, As money is received from MS's transfer this straight off bills :A
7, Take a packed lunch EVERY day
Right, am off to work now. Roll on the weekend!CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
