    I use a 3g monitor yes.

The one I use is the "dodol" one. If you search for 3g monitor in the market you will find a couple

Well it is nearly the end of the month and if your data allowance runs from the 1st then it is easy enough to reset it all from the beginning of next month

Read the instuctions which come on the SD card or download from the HTC site, it has all the million icons it uses (bar downloaded apps)
I have just got mine and first thing I did was switch off the data connection because I not have a data plan just yet. I am useing the wifi. Want to see what my daily usage with wifi is before I go bankrupt :D

Anyone recommend any apps for the desire? Also whats the difference with a widget and an app when adding them to the screen? Some don't seem to be any different.

It's your data connection, When the arrows are white you phone is sending or receiving data.

Mine are red and green :p
Its very nice with colour icons and a circle battery.

Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phoneYou'll get internet on your phone Plus included if you join us on a pay monthly plan with an Android phone in a T-Mobile store, over the phone or via our website, t-mobile.co.uk. You'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Plus Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use Internet on your phone Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone Plus comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our internet on your customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. That £1 a day rate has its own fair use policy and other legal stuff, which you can see here: t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup5.
I have just found this on the t mobile website I got my phone from affordable mobiles so do you think this will apply

Should I just leave the internet on at all times

Im getting confused they dont tell you none of this when purchasing Do I leave the internet on and risk a bill or do I turn it off like suggested above and maybe incur £1 a day charges im absolutely lost hopefully someone can help me with this

    3Gig is a decent amount.

Always worth keeping an eye on the data usage just in case.

Yes, I would agree. 3Gb is a decent allowance. To have to turn off data would be a travesty.
