Indeed. Make sure you know how much your data allowance is and that you are staying within it.0 -
can it be turned off or should it be there all the time. The arrows underneath r grey at the moment but sometimes flash white at a moments notice
I have unlimited internet£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
You can turn your data connection off.
One way is to go into settings and turn off "mobile network"
I use a widget on one of the screens to turn it off when I am using wi-fi
EDIT - how "unlimited" is your internet.0 -

I have unlimited internet
If you are not actively using the internet, it means data is being sent in the background through a sync or other application/service.
Which network are you with? Unless you have GiffGaff, it's unlikely you have 'unlimited' internet. Your allowance could be as low as 500Mb, which can easily be used up each month. I suggest you install an app like 3G Watchdog to monitor your usage.
If you have no desire (excuse me) to have Facbook, Mail etc synchronizing, you can turn this off in Settings>Accounts & sync. If you want to turn off Mobile Data completely and only use WiFi, you can do this in Settings>Wireless & networks. Although IMO this is crippling what the device was designed for.0 -
i signed the contract for unlimited internet not sure "unlimited amount" will look into it.
im a bit concerned now i want to use the internet facebook etc internet itsself so how do i know if im going over or how do i just have the internet on wen i want it on
where do i get the 3g watchdog from£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
You can get the watchdog from the android market
If you want to put a widget on one of the screens then hold your finger on an empty space until the "add to home" screen appears
then tap "widget" then scroll down to "settings" and click the little arrow to the right.
Then tap "mobile internet" and this will appear on the original screen. Using this you can turn your 3g access on and off easily0 -
you are an absolute star thank you very much
that make me less worried now about the bills and i know i can easily stick to my contract amount.
loving the phone so far alot say it is betteer than the iphone and thats y i went with this one£322.00/£3500 - CC - 26/04/110 -
Once you know how much is in your "unlimited" bundle then that will help as well.
I use mine on wi-fi where I can, and only use the 3G when out and about to keep up with News sites and a couple of email accounts.
I am on 500mb and have never been anywhere near that in a month.
I think the most I ever used was about 66% of my allowance.0
