Not much has happened today. I walked up to the nursery Poppy is starting in March to hand in forms and pay deposit.
I have just about run out of money this month so either have to eat into my savings or it will come out of my pay next week. This month was expensive with buying clothes to wear to the wedding i went to and having my hair cut etc.
When I get paid I am going to put aside some money for christmas presents so i dont end up spending it on other stuff.0 -
Poppy is 6 months old today, has gone so quick!
We thought she might have a dairy alergy/intolerance as she reacted with a rash to baby porridge which has milk in it. Tried her on yoghurt today (health visitor said to try that) and she came out in a rash, was sneezing, coughing and then threw up all over me...Have now booked her an appointment with the doctor so they can test her.
Not done much today again, usually go to an under 1s group but OH needed car for work and is too far to walk. We did take a walk to sainsburys to get some oven pride which i have now applied and will be cleaning the oven later.
I managed to redeem yesterday for a ten pound argos voucher on one of the survey sites so that will go towards christmas pressies.0 -
Had a nice weekend. My Mum and sister came saturday and Poppy started crawling, can't believe she is crawling already. Is hard work though she just keeps crawling over to play with my laptop wire so have to keep moving her.
In money news have gone into next months pay a bit more than i would have liked to. Am waiting to see how much i get paid this month to work out where all the money is going. I am putting some aside seperately for Christmas pressies which i will start buying after payday.
Going shopping this afternoon with OH, he is going to get me some new boots for my birthday thursday yay.0 -
I had a really nice birthday, was spoilt and got lots of lovely presents including boots, a dress, a coat and some money and vouchers. Going to treat myself to some new clothes. Also got a £15 amazon voucher from my work which i will be adding to the christmas fund.
We went to London on Friday and i got Poppy a really nice 1st christmas ornament for the tree from harrods.
I got paid Friday so have sorted my money out. Managed to cover the money i went over last month, hopefully will manage to not go over this month. Also put some money in a seperate account for Christmas presents, will be easier to keep track of that way. I also have a spreadsheet which will help me keep to budget.
Got a couple of presents for my friends kids on Thursday at the 50% toysale at sainsburys. Also ordered some slippers for my mum today, doing her a relaxation hamper.0 -
Has been quite a low spend day which is good, need lots of these this month! Just £1.70 on baby group.Took Poppy in her little halloween costume and was so cute seeing all the babies dressed up.
Yesterday i ordered a present for my mum from matalan, some slippers for her relaxation hamper. I also bought Poppy a reindeer outfit and some christmas bibs. The reindeer outfit was a lot cheaper than the one i saw on mothercare and looks almost identical. I also got 15% off by using a code and doing it through bootstreatstreet.
I did the offer the other day to spend £5 and get £15 boots points but when i did my purchase on treat street it didn't track. Thankfully looks like they have counted the matalan one so should have those extra points in december towards presents.0 -
Went into town today and bought myself a nice warm long cardy and two tops with my money/vouchers. Nice to have some new things. Might have to sort through and throw away some of my old tatty clothes.
Also bought a couple of presents at boots with the points i already had on my card. Bought my mum some bath stuff for her hamper and a frame for a pic of Poppy for my Grandma. I got a basket to do my mums hamper too.
Have set myself some new challenges over on Dinahs thread. One is to redeem £40 of vouchers towards christmas. Already managed to do £15 today as had enough points for five pounds amazon on one survey site and did a survey that got me up to redemption on another. The other money challenge is to do £15 of surveys a week, did quite well last month so hopefully will again.
The non money challenges are to make a christmas cake, need to check what ingredients i need and to lose 3lb.0 -

Haven't updated for a couple of weeks.
Sadly my Grandma passed away this week. I went to see her a couple of weeks ago in hospital and she was a lot more poorly than I realised she was. Everyone thought she was showing a few signs of improvement but she went a lot quicker than anyone thought. I am really sad about it but glad she got to meet Poppy and she was so happy to have a great Grandchild so I think I helped make her last few months happy.
In money news I am a bit low coming up to the end of the month as always. Glad i have put money seperate to pay for Christmas presents as means at least i will be able to afford them.
My challenegs are going pretty well. I made my Christmas cake and it looks good. I also have managed to redeem £35 vouchers this month which will help towards christmas presents. Surveys have been pretty good and have also redeemed some money off a couple which should come through in next month or so. That will be going into savings towards Poppy's nursery fees when i go back to work.0 -
Sorry to hear about your grandmother Wendz. I only have one grandparent left now and I am the only grand child without a child hopefully I will have one too for her before her time comes.
Well done on the surveys etc, I am addicted to swagbucks at the moment! Can't stop searching!
Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0
