Well I have officially finished work now until next year! We went out for a lovely meal, had a salad, chicken and sides and a sorbet. Also a couple of non alcoholic mojitos. Was very nice. Then went back to work and got some lovely flowers and cards and got a bit emotional saying bye to everyone.
OH and I drove down to Southampton last night. I am staying at my Mum and Dads and he has gone to Cardiff for the night for his mates engagment party.
Mum and I went shopping today. I got some cards as I have a lot of birthdays coming up and need to be organised as I am sure I won't be when baby is here. Also got three books that were on offer and gave Mum one as part of her Mothers day present. Also treated her to some lunch at La Tasca.
We are going to visit my Grandma tomorrow and have a buffet type lunch as she can't move very far at the moment.
Hope everyones having a nice weekend.0 -
Had a busy day today. My Grandma had a fall last night and ended up in hospital with a suspected fractured hip so we went to visit her today. She is OK, although in a lot of pain poor thing.
Then when we eventually got back after a long journey getting stuck in traffic I went to OH's sisters for dinner. Was very nice and his little nieces were both rubbing my belly and talking to the baby so cute! The 4 year old was asking me loads of questions about why the baby was sleeping and things.
OH and I are heading back up to Hertfordshire tomorrow , he isn't working till Wed which is nice but then he has to work 7 shifts in a row so will be getting on with my list of things to do on maternity leave.0 -
Good news is my Grandma's hip is not fractured so she won't have to stay in hospital too long hopefully!
Journey back was quite quick today which was good.
First day of maternity leave today and have started doing some baby washing. Done the sheets and some of the smaller clothes.
Also been doing some surveys, keep checking OP as seems to be quite good at the moment. On £14.20 at the moment, need £40 to withdraw.0 -
Well todays plans are that I have a doctors check up at 2pm. Then this afternoon after that OH and i are going to go to the cinema probably to see Limitless.
In terms of jobs I am going to try and do the following:
-Pick up parcel from post office
-Take recycling out
-Do some more baby clothes washing
-Ironing
-Make up Moses Basket
-Do any surveys/check Onepoll
Hopefully that will keep me busy this morning anyway!0 -
Doctors check went OK, but she doesn't think baby is imminant as head isn't engaged yet. At leat it gives me a bit more organising/relaxing time.
Managed to do all yesterdays jobs except do more baby clothes washing so will do that today.
Also getting my hair cut this afternoon. Might have to take a walk or something as is supposed to be a lovely day.
Yesterday I managed to redeem £10 from a survey site so have put that in my maternity savings.0 -
Well yesterday was such a lovely day. Hopefully today will be nice too, going to take a stroll round shops as need to get birthday present for a friend. I also want to go and join the library.
I went looking for some storage stuff for under the cot yesterday but couldn't find anything suitable so think we are going to get the matching drawers to ours from IKEA which we can fit in our room. Just need to get to IKEA now!
We went food shopping yesterday and didn't do too bad for once and got lots so hopefully that will last a few days.0 -
Shopping this morning was fairly succesful. Got measured for my nursing bras and bought a couple. Signed up for the Debenhams card to get 10% off and will cut the card up when i get it.
Also got my friend a photo frame and some socks for a birthday present.
Was a little naughty and got myself a dress. Used 20% off voucher though so was only £8 and isn''t maternity although am wearing it now so hopefully will fit after too.
Was quite tiring walking around so will be chilling out this afternoon.0 -
Today has been a nice day. Walked up the big hill to the post office to send my friends birthday present this morning. Also popped into charity shop and bought a book. Then this afternoon me and my sister went and sat outside the cafe by the canal and had a drink, which was very nice in the sunshine!
Been doing well on the surveys. I think at the begining of the week i said i was on £14 ish on OP and am now on over £17. I also sent an email about a cheque i am waiting for from a site and they said will have it byt the 20th.
Nothing planned for the weekend but will hopefully find something to keep me occupied.0 -
sounds like you're enjoying mat leave so far. Hope the sun stays shining but not too hot for you0
-
Is just right at the moment, warm but not too hot!
Have put a couple of quid bet on for me and OH on the Grand National today for a bit of fun.
Going down sainsburys with him in a min to get some bbq stuff to take to work today! Doesn't sound like much work will be going on lol.0
