Went into the York store today, struggled to find anything under £5 that wasn't complete rubbish but I did get a Xmas pressie sorted! The assistant knew what to do with the voucher, came up on my receipt as 'gift card'.0

I work for Debenhams and we are delighted with how successful this offer has been. Most costumers are buying higher value items and extra stuff as well so we benefit from it. Its also bringing new potential customers into our stores.Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Well that's absolutely great!:j Can you confirm please, if an impoverished MSE-er went in every day, till the deal ends, with a freshly printed voucher, are they likely to get carted off to prison, or will Mr Debenhams smile, Santa-like, happy in the knowledge that he is spreading Christmas Joy, to one and all? :A

I went in to the Doncaster Debenhams today and as I was walking past the Clinique counter one of the managers was talking to the Clinique sales assistant about these vouchers. The manager didn't seem to have a clue about them, maybe she's been on holiday or something. Anyway she wasn't happy and said she was phoning someone about it. She did say who but I forget now. As I was browsing through the store deciding what I was going to buy the same manager was talking to another SA about them, saying it's ridiculous, more and more people are coming in and spending the bare minimum. Anyone would think it was coming out of her pocket!
Anyhooooo I used my first 3 vouchers today, she didn't put me off using them :rotfl:
First I got a Floozie eye pencil set, it said £6 but when I got to the till she said I couldn't use the voucher because it came to £4.80, I quickly grabbed a breast cancer pink ribbon badge for £2. Went through no problem at all.
Next I got a pack of candy cane decorations for my childrens Christmas tree(we have 2, one with gingerbread men and candy canes etc etc) these were £5, handed over my voucher, the guy who served me said he needed to go and check how to put them through, about 3 minutes later he returned and said it was fine.
Lastly I got a bracelet for DD it cost £10, the SA took it no problem.
I didn't actually spend any money to make up the difference because I had a £10 gift card which I got for free because I had spent £100 using Love To Shop vouchers last week, so all of it for free, I still have £3ish on my gift card too :rotfl:0 -
